That 51 Henry J is looking pretty kewl. I built one a few years ago and yeah, there are a few issues. I diggin this build.

I hear ya James. The were Slixx decals.

I don't think if I shot a coat of 2K clear over the decals it would have helped. I think the issue was on the under side. Once the weather warms up I'm going to be doing some testing with 2K clear over decals which I've never done.

I appreciate the info RRR. Putting decals over the polished surface is how I've done it for years and never had any issues. That's why I'm thinking the decals may be old but really don't know. I have removed the decals and a good friend is sending me a new decal sheet. This time around I'm going with the Tamiya decal setting solution.

Problem has been solved. I was setting here in front of my computer this morning looking at the body and just didn't like what I saw so I pulled out a toothpick and picked off the decals. Not sure what I have to replace them so we'll see.

All the bright work is looke pretty good. Great looking color on the body.

Love these Big ole land yachts. Those wheels look Great and the Satin black with red interior will look Super kewl.

Problem solved. Decals have been removed. Now to see if I have something to use. May have to order some new decals.

I think before I mess up the paint I'm going to try and get the decals off and try and find some replacements.

Well, a friend of mine suggested the Tamiya decal set which I'm going to pick up tomorrow and see what happens.

Yeah...none of the above. It's a nice smooth finish of 2K Clear. I have reached out to Becky at Slixx earlier. We'll see what they have to say.

I bought these Slixx Decals from Model Roundup last summer and thought this would be a Great fit for my re-build of the 41 Willy's Gasser. The clear area around the letters sticks out like a sore thumb. Never had this happen before. Maybe because they are on a black body??? Anybody have this happen before? Any way to help them look better?

Thanks Mike. Taking another look at the pics I'm not liking how I can see the clear area around the decals. I'm going to pick up some of the Tamiya decal set and see if it will help.

Got the decals on. I could not get the Swindler A decals that went on the rear fenders to lay down without a wrinkle due to the radius of the fender in two directions so I went with something else. I'd rather it look good vs it looking right. I'm not looking to memic the the original, just looking for something kewl looking
