  1. I totally agree, but I lean more towards the California Kid as it is Ford powered
  2. As it has been said before this was a plastic version of their previously released diecast and Revell has stated it was. I for one will be picking one up in the near future!!
  3. Way Cool!!!!! Where can I get those decals?
  4. Dave, As a head judge, you are SOL Seriously though as far as filler is concerned there are a lot of kits that from days of yore that really needed filler just to make them presentable. Filler is a finishing tool as say paint or glue you are not really adding an aftermarket item or parts from another kit. So IMHO you should be fine.
  5. Hey Col. do you by any chance know a Hugh Mills? He was a scout leader and instructor also, ( I know it is a big Army but ya never know) and has written some on the subject also is a frequent flyer on the following site: http://www.network54.com/Forum/163130/ I don't know him personally but he has answered many a questions about Loaches for me.
  6. Welcome aboard Colonel Were you in loaches, slicks or bananas? or D all of the above?
  7. Wow that is a way cool build I think I am gonna do something similar in 1/87th for a friends RR setup!!
  8. Well I still have my diecast Bullitt kit
  9. The Samba is probablly the Hasegawa kit as RoG has been in cahoots of late sharing tooling.
  10. Boy Howdy!!!! I can see the Project X car in its Hollywood Knight configuration at the end of the tunnel Woo Hoo
  11. Nice work so far!! The wheels do look nice.
  12. Well it has a big block for starters it also has the Bullitt grill and wheels so it really is kind of a 3 n 1 it also has the hood with the turn signals.
  13. This looks like I'll pick one up eventually when they hit Hobby Lobby so I can be a cheap you know what. As my LHS owner said he was very suprised when they came through with a $22.99 MSRP ouch! Heck that is a buck more than the Bullitt cars and 70 Mustang an Fairlane kits. Does anyone know if th big three are charging more for licensing?
  14. If it is any help my 1964 Fairlane had a red 289 in it it was a 289 Special and it was all originall.
  15. I have to agree. Case in point the latest R&C has a beautiful 56 Merc with a GM crate engine and tranny. As it costs about the same these days for crate motors. Imagine if I was to put a 427 Sideoiler into a tri 5 1:1 Chevy it cause so much controversy. But I do like the looks of the car just don't show me the engine!
  16. You may want to stop at Cabelas Outfitters as they have a lot of items for super detailing like different size lines for fly tying.
  17. It was a lot of fun!! We Michigan boys all finished!!!! and I am still up since Sat. 9am est but not for long. Nighty night http://s164.photobucket.com/albums/u28/sco...e%20MNG%20guys/
  18. If it was any longer it could be a top fuel car
  19. Have you been getting your regular mail? I will contact a friend that lives in Windsor and see if there are any problems he has heard of.
  20. I have used a homemade speed control from a dimmer switch for 7years and haven't had any issues.
  21. Looks like the Lizards may have some competition!!
  22. got one on the back burner and the chassis will work with some minor surgery.
  23. Call it what you would like as they are externally the same block and all heads and intakes interchanged. HTH
  24. I agree that they they only got a double while swinging for the bleachers but a bench seat is available from Modelhaus and a 260/289 is available in the AMT 67 stang kits. but they are not truly a good representation for a purists smallblock as in 64 the smallblocks only had a 5 bolt bellhousing where it attached to the block. On the plus side you could sway the 67 stang smallblock for the big block from the Fairlane and have a wicked street machine stang and a mild street Fairlane!!!! I am happy with the kit as I can now build a replica with some minor swapping of a car I once had!
  25. Seems like you were thinkin what I was thinkin!!!!
