yeap. that's the black paint in the third pic. also used KBS rust blast to neutralize what was left after i wire brushed the loose flaky stuff off. this should take care of any rust issues around the windows for a looooong time.

finally finished my little window project. wasn't as much rust as i thought there was going to be. and it came out nicer than i thought it was going to. this also means i can clean up the garage a bit. so im more than pleased!

Remember Saturday morning cartoons?

i remember Beetle Juice, but wasn't really into it. my brother on the other hand loved it. as well as Batman the Animated Series, and to a lesser extent X-Men. still go out of my way to watch those as well. frosted my ever lovin's that it wasn't on network TV last year. had to watch it on DVD instead. but somehow that's just not the same. also never miss Rudolph or Frosty. been a few years sense i watch The Grinch though... Garfield has a Christmas special that hasn't been on in a long time. found it on youtube and watch it last year. another personal favorite is The Year Without A Santa Claus. i think the Heat Miser and Snow Miser song's are permanently etched into my head. also really like Mickey's Christmas Carol. i remember 'Twas The Night Before Christmas. i vaguely remember Winnie The Poo And Christmas Too. as well as the California Raisins Christmas Celebration. back at the original topic. i remembered there were 2 Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons i really liked. also remembered Mighty Max. it was pretty good. Biker Mice from Mars. Street Sharks (ninja turtles rip off), and Swat Kats The Radical Squadron. Captain Planet (couldn't stand that one, but my brother liked it), Aladdin had a cartoon that wasn't bad. Abu had his moments lol. -

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
Suburban_Hooligan replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
iv got a method that's not exactly convenient or available to most people but it's been getting me good results. iv done 3 bodies and 2 engines this way in the past year and a half. iv got a heated Safety Clean solvent tank at work. drop the body in a bucket so it's submerged and let it soak. after a couple hours the paint is soft and pealing, a paint brush will remove it. takes off enamel and lacquer as well as chrome plating and even some adhesives. the key is that the solvent has to be heated so it's cloudy. iv got a solvent tank at home with the same solvent in it but it's not heated and this method doesn't work. so far it hasn't hurt any of the plastic, and iv yet to try it on clear parts. just figured id throw this information out there. -
yeap, iv got it in the house (i don't mix my garage games and house games). i got going on RC Pro AM last weekend. ended up playing the game more that working the current build (70 Camaro) ?

i have a stereo receiver and a 5 disc CD changer. also have a headphone adapter so i can plug an MP3 player or my phone into the stereo. there's always music playing. i flat out can't work in silence it drives me up the wall. i also have a TV, DVD player and old Nintendo set up out there. so it's not uncommon for me to be playing RBI Baseball or Excitebike while waiting for paint and glue to dry. a few times iv plugged my laptop into the TV and watched shows on motor trend on demand. but i seem to save the TV and DVD watching for RC car wrenching for some reason...

VW Hebmuller VW Type 3's Toyota 2000GT Auto Union Type D (think it's been done but not in 1/24 scale. at least that im aware of) a Trophy Truck of some kind. ideally Ivan Stewart's TRD truck from the early 90's sand rails and tube frame dune buggy's along the lines of a SCORE class 9

Testors Gloss Teal. all i did was thin it and air brush it. it's 3 medium wet coats over white primer. and no clear coat. doesn't show in the pictures because of the lack of direct sunlight but it is metallic. -
pro street Chevy Beretta. started one when I was ten and never finished it. slowly parted it out. when it was rereleased I picked one up. it’s been on the build list for about two years and I’m itching to build it. and maybe get around to finishing the 56 f100 I started a decade ago and never finished.

wow! that thing is straight mid/late 70's lol. nobody builds them like that anymore. but im kinda digging it! put a nice stereo in there, cruise around blaring Boston or maybe Alice Cooper or something. id love to roll up to a VW show with that thing, it'd be great. bummer you don't have it anymore.

hey now were talking! i built this 71 super beetle. this pic is about 12 years old. unfortunately its no longer this nice. it was my daily driver for several years and the CA sun took it's toll on the paint. eventually the engine died and it's been sitting sense November of 2014. im currently building a 1776cc for it. build video

my 50 Merc came out particularly nice. it's a custom mixed color, i dumped a bunch of silver in it to make it metallic and when the sun hits it it pops!

hey what's up, im Suburban Hooligan, real name Randy. been building model cars sense at least the second grade (im 37 now, you can do the math i don't want to ?) i got real heavy into drag racing slot cars and building model cars during middle school and then in high school i started messing with RC cars and building fewer and fewer models. the last several years i find myself building more and more models. currently in the middle of a 70 Camaro. also got bored today and finally put the decal stripes on a Dodge Ram VTS i slammed together back in ruffly 1997 (better late than never right?) giving that truck a little bit of a cleaning and a bit of a freshen up. i like to build muscle cars, hot rods, and drag cars. my last build was this 57 Corvette
