  1. Only 3 kits at my local Ollies, 35 miles away. I got this one, was not interested in the other 2. I was looking for this one and the 57 Chevy Nomad others had found, but no go on that one.
  2. 71 Petty Dodge driven by Buddy Baker........
  3. Going with Tamiya XF56 metallic grey, I think it will look good once I get the clear on it. I messed up the body so it's in the purple pond, I'll redo it.
  4. My 15 year old craftsman air compressor has been acting up, so ordered a dedicated air brush compressor a few days ago. I was getting tired of that 90 decibel noise anyway. Maybe this one will be a little quieter. UPS delivered it about an hour ago. Brand is PointZero.
  5. Hobby Lobby 40% off..................
  6. Beautiful truck Bob. Nice work.
  7. Thanks Greg. I thought about doing that, but they will be low enough without it.
  8. Made the exhaust extensions with the Evergreen tubing, but didn't like how they looked. So I had to make a trip to the big city today, stopped by HL and picked up some aluminum tubing. I'll try making some from it. Was also going to start painting today but my 15 year old Craftsman air compressor that I use with my air brush is giving me problems. So I decided to order a dedicated air brush compressor, should be here middle of next week.
  9. Thanks. Had not thought of that, yes the tube is too think I will need to thin it down.
  10. If it's this kit, it's hood hinges part 116. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/6/8/5/155685-37-instructions.pdf
  11. Thanks David. The Camaro exhaust system I'm using has tips with it, but they will be too short. I want them to stick out a little beyond the panel. I don't have any aluminum tubing but I think I can make some from Evergreen plastic tubing. I'll just need to paint them silver or chrome.
  12. I'm going with the no bumper look on the rear. I've made a panel to fit, and I'm debating if I want to put some taillights in the panel or just use the stock lights. I need to check the Camaro exhaust tips to see if they will stick out as far as I would like. I may need to find some different ones. The Camaro exhaust had 4 exit pipes, but I cut them down to 2 to make the exhaust system fit better.
  13. I also use the Tamiya x and xf acrylics with Mr. Hobby Leveling Thinner, it works great. I use the Tamiya x-22 clear with the leveling thinner also, works fine. But I have used the Future floor polish (actually Revive It) over the Tamiya acrylics and never had a problem.
  14. Got the wheels ready...........
  15. Thanks Bob. Thanks Mike. Tell your wife not to wait too long, it's harder to recover. My wife had her right one done 4 years ago, and should have had the left one done before now. It was in bad shape, bone on bone, she could not even bend it and it was locking up. But we had a great surgeon that got it fixed and she is recovering well. Mine are bad also, I've had the injection in my left one and will need a replacement probably before the year is out.
  16. Surgery went great, wife is doing good. She thanks all for the well wishes. Not having much bench time right now, but was able to test the Tamiya Copper paint I want to use on the interior. I think it will look good. That is not part of the interior I will be using.
  17. Working on a 50 Chevy 3100. The wheels/tires, engine and seats/console are from a 2017 Camaro kit.
  18. Got the firewall cut out to fit the Camaro engine. Had to make some mods to some of engine bits that attach to it, but I think I can get it all into the engine compartment along with the Camaro radiator/fan assembly. I'll get back on it in a couple of weeks after my wife recovers some from the surgery. I'm about ready to start painting.
