Thanks for the input Frances. If they look right to some one like you with a great ability to build realistic components then I have the look I want to achieve. -

Hi Mark. Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes you get lucky and an idea works out OK on the first swing. The way I made this was to sketch out the idea on .2 plastic, add straight guide pieces of .2 plastic around the perimeter and the inside angle piece of one half of the sketch, drilled holes at each corner. I took that template and placed it on the .2 plastic sheet that would become the outer skin. I drilled out all the holes on one side of the outer skin piece, flipped the template over and drilled out the other side so the 2 sides would match, and "connected the dots" with a straight edge and #11 blade. A little filing and sanding and I glued it to a second .2 plastic sheet to create the indentions. -

OOPS. I used 49 Ford headlights, not 40 Ford. -

Figured out my headlights. Created frenched headlights by hogging out the front side of the headlight holes with the Dremel bit shown and placing headlights from an Ertl 40 Ford behind the hole. -

Thanks Ray. Glad you like it. Took a look at your Porsche. Nicely done. Sorry it got all the way down to 60 in Arizona. 60 would be a heat wave in Nebraska this time of year. -

Nice looking panel. I think I like the panel better than the pickup. Good choice of colors and wheels. -

Built a tailgate and rear roll pan. Used the FD100 rear bumper as a starting point for the roll pan. -

Thanks for the feedback. Several of these kinds of conversions were featured in Scale Auto in the 80's and 90's. Tim Boyd did a few and I think Tom Woodruff did a 48 Ford convertible. -

Built a rack and pinion based on a flaming river 1:1 design. Used aluminum tubing and aluminum stock. -

I carved the front a arms out of aluminum. Roughed together door panels and I think I know what I will do for seats and a center console. -
