  1. Far out!!!!. Paneling is spot on. That chair is really nicely done.
  2. Nice work so far. I have been following and enjoying this thread for quite a while. I am not really a drag car fan but I love to see excellent detail work where ever it shows up.
  3. Hi Frances. I have opened a few doors over the years. It looks like you are doing everything correctly so far. (No surprise, everything you do is about the best I have ever seen.) I like the reinforcement you built in to the fender to hide the thickness of the rest of the fender. I am curious to see what you come up with for hinges for a door that opens to the inside of the fender.
  4. Interior looks nice. I like the wheels you are using on your last post.
  5. thanks for liking my 48 Ranchero.

  6. Added under hood bracing detail and got the hood hinges built. The hinges are carved out of aluminum and will be polished. I will run stainless tubing between the hinges where the pin is up by the hood to hold everything in place.
  7. Nice foil work. I like the color combo.
  8. Thanks for the input Frances. If they look right to some one like you with a great ability to build realistic components then I have the look I want to achieve.
  9. Hi Mark. Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes you get lucky and an idea works out OK on the first swing. The way I made this was to sketch out the idea on .2 plastic, add straight guide pieces of .2 plastic around the perimeter and the inside angle piece of one half of the sketch, drilled holes at each corner. I took that template and placed it on the .2 plastic sheet that would become the outer skin. I drilled out all the holes on one side of the outer skin piece, flipped the template over and drilled out the other side so the 2 sides would match, and "connected the dots" with a straight edge and #11 blade. A little filing and sanding and I glued it to a second .2 plastic sheet to create the indentions.
  10. OOPS. I used 49 Ford headlights, not 40 Ford.
  11. Figured out my headlights. Created frenched headlights by hogging out the front side of the headlight holes with the Dremel bit shown and placing headlights from an Ertl 40 Ford behind the hole.
  12. Threw together a custom firewall.
  13. Hi Frances. Very clean and precise work as always. Thanks for sharing your thought processes with us.
  14. Hi Dennis. Thanks for the feedback on the rack. I wasn't sure if it was good enough so I appreciate the positive feedback from you.
  15. Hi Dennis. NIce clean work on the Land Rover. The LS engine looks great and your interior detail is very well done.
  16. Hey Vern. thanks for your feedback. It seems to be falling together OK at this point.
  17. Nice looking family of Broncos.
  18. Hey Frances. Thanks for checking in. I always appreciate your comments and insight. I plan on taking it to a few contests when it is complete.
  19. Thanks Ray. Glad you like it. Took a look at your Porsche. Nicely done. Sorry it got all the way down to 60 in Arizona. 60 would be a heat wave in Nebraska this time of year.
  20. Nice looking panel. I think I like the panel better than the pickup. Good choice of colors and wheels.
  21. Very impressive! Everything fits so well together. Hope you get these 2 29's done in time for GSL. Looking forward to seeing the finished project in person.
  22. Built a tailgate and rear roll pan. Used the FD100 rear bumper as a starting point for the roll pan.
  23. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like it.
  24. Thanks for the feedback. Several of these kinds of conversions were featured in Scale Auto in the 80's and 90's. Tim Boyd did a few and I think Tom Woodruff did a 48 Ford convertible.
  25. The bus sides look really nice. Everything is straight and appears to be in scale. Well done.
