  1. I agree with your comment about panel lines. Less is better and more realistic in 1/25 scale. BTW once again you took a very basic model and turned it into something any one would be proud to call their own.
  2. HI Tim. You can take the most basic kit and make it look way cool. Nicely done. Will I see you in Salt Lake next year?
  3. Nicely done. The interior is outstanding. It really looks like vinyl.
  4. Sorry for the late response to this 18 month old attachment to this thread. I didn't know how to respond to individual comments . Thanks for looking and commenting back then. I have made a bit of progress on this build and hope to be at at the Heartland Nationals next month with it. I see you are from somewhere in Kansas so If you are also there we can talk F100's for a while.
  5. Looks good to me. I would love to get a good 72 Montego body, bumpers and grille so I can replicate the one I owned.
  6. Nice collection of models! The interior of the Chevelle looks fantastic. I probably have the mirror you are looking for in my carpet along with a host of other items.
  7. Hi Francis. thanks for checking in. Those coil overs are modified RD Unique coil overs. If you aren't familiar with RD Unique, they made a variety of fairly nice street rod components cast in a soft metal that polishes up similar to what you can do with aluminum. RD Unique was around 20 years ago. (The disk brakes I used are also metal casted by RD Unique). As you know, if it's made out of metal, it really looks like metal. (My photography skills aren't very good so the pictures don't do justice to the aluminum and metal cast items I have used on this project.) Thanks again for checking up on me. Your interest in my project has been very motivating!
  8. Engine is ready to install. The first 2 pics show how it fits the next pics are the 1:1 engine. I will plumb the a/c heating and radiator when it's in. Also need to add alternator wire and fan belts. Thanks to any one who is following along. Comments are always welcome!
  9. Very impressive. Right down to the very realistic aluminum weld beads on the valve covers and headers.
  10. Interior is done. First pic is the 1:1 truck and next pics are my rendition. The door handles and window cranks were carved out of the finned valve covers from the 427 in the amt 32 ford phaeton. Seat is a combination of amt 53 f100 and revell 32 ford 5 window coupe. Next up, the engine.
  11. Attached are my "final" rendition of the heidts mustang ii with power rack and heidts 4 link rear end that are on my 1:1 truck. Had to redo the kick panels on the interior so after the paint dries I will reassemble the interior and send a few pics.
  12. I never knew a "stock" 49 Ford could look so good. Nice work on the window trim. You did it correctly by simulating black rubber. If it were my build I wouldn't hesitate to take it to a contest or 2.
  13. It's up on all fours. I think I will do the interior next.
  14. Nice weathering. Looks very realistic and in scale.
  15. Hi Steve. Just ran across this thread. Nicely done! Love the interior and dash work. Very tasteful.
  16. Nice detail work on the frame. I am going to steal your procedure for making u-joints. Very clever and realistic. I need them on steering columns on my 1:25 car builds.
  17. Thanks Francis. I appreciate all your support! I am keeping close tabs on your incredible Dodge truck. Perhaps we will meet at some event some day, maybe Salt Lake.
  18. Your metal work is so perfect that it's almost a shame to paint it!
  19. Nice rack!! Your use of o rings for the boots is very cleaver. Glad you are back at it.
  20. Awesome work. Outstanding detail work for such a large scale. My guess is that 1/8th scale is very unforgiving so to have such accurate attention to detail as you are displaying in this scale is truly a testament to your talent.
  21. Beautiful dash!!!! Looking forward to the front end assembly update. (I look forward to all your updates.)
  22. Got tail lights and tailgate mounted. Tail lights, mounting brackets, bed strips and tailgate hinges carved out of aluminum. Box is revell 50 ford, fenders are widened amt 53 ford, tailgate is modified amt 53 ford and wood is basswood with cherry stain and many coats of clear lacquer. Top pics are the 1:1 truck and bottom ones are my rendition.
  23. Hey Francis. You must be close to getting this masterpiece completed. Stay the course my friend!!!!
  24. Hi Rusty. Thanks for the feedback! I glad you like it. If you have specific questions about anything feel free to ask.
