  1. I Ian. Thanks for your feedback. I consider having a master modeler like you consider using one of my techniques a great compliment!
  2. Thanks for checking in Frances. As always, your comments and perspective are very much appreciated!!!
  3. Thanks for the feed back. To me this is one of the Fords Henry should have built.
  4. Nice work!! That interior is awesome and your foil work is very nicely done.
  5. Thanks for your comments. I stuck a pin into the stainless tube so about .75 mm stuck out. I drilled a hole in the side of the aluminum tube and inserted the end of the pin into the hole drilled in the aluminum tube. I used lok tite liquid super glue to hold it together.
  6. Thanks for the feedback.. Glad you like it.
  7. The rear suspension is roughed together. Stainless tubing, aluminium tubing and modified RD Unique coil overs.
  8. Try the Ertl 53 Ford hood. The old Revell hood, body and fenders are very incorrect relative to the 1:1 F100. The Ertl 53 Ford F100 is the best. The Monogram 55 F100 is also way out of scale.
  9. Hi Francis. The grill is perfect!!! Good choice on starting with the Revell chassis. I also agree with your thoughts about brass versus styrene in some cases. FYI I started a thread in WIP pickups called 48 Ford Ranchero. I always appreciate your comments.
  10. Thanks for the feedback. Just took a look at your blown FD100. Looking good!
  11. Thanks for your feedback. I was hoping the big rear window made sense to others who see it.
  12. Looking good. Like the way you cut the hood around the blower and pully.
  13. Another 48 coupe converted to a pickup. Front fenders and hood from Testers 48 coupe. Revell 50 Ford pickup body stretched a few inches until the big back window from the Foose fd100 fit. Foose fd100 frame and Roush motor will be used. Probably doing steel wheels with Ford dog dish hubcaps. Probably will be House of Colors tangerine. I would be honored to see some of you follow along.
  14. Hi Francis. Good to see you back at it! You nailed the deck lid and tail light section. The molding for the deck lid to rest on appears to be spot on! The deck lid appears to be pretty thin in some areas, are you concerned about it warping during the painting process?
  15. I like the horizontal quad headlight treatment. have you considered removing an inch or two from the top
  16. You have really captured the essence of this truck. Instead of a tanker consider the ERTL single axle vintage car hauler with a few 53 thru 56 F100's on it. That would be perfection for us F100 fans.
  17. Hi Francis. I am responding to this thread just to push this back up to the top the list. This project deserves to be at the forefront of this forum for a while. (You already know what I think of this work of art)
  18. Hi Ian, Well done!!! You have definitely captured the essence of the real car in all its glory. Replicas done correctly as this one is requires tremendous attention to detail. One of the best replicas I have ever seen.
  19. Hey Carl. I really appreciate the feed back. Glad you like it.
  20. Thanks for your comment. I posted this hoping to help others like myself that have had difficulty getting foil to look clean, crisp and straight.
  21. I had difficulty in the past getting clean straight edges when I tried to foil. This way, I got the trim straight before painting. When I removed the first pieces of foil, I tracked along the ridge created by the edges of the foil with my #11 exacto knife so the paint wouldn't peal when I removed the foil. This process left a slight straight "ditch" to drag my knife through when I was trimming the second, final piece of foil. In addition, the detail of the model's trim piece is protected from having any paint laying on it which could hide some of the detail of the trim.
  22. I am doing a box stock 50 oldsmobile to practice paint and foiling before I ruin my more serious build. I foiled the entire car with Power Plus foil used for furnace duct tape. Then I painted and polished the body, removed the foil and now I am re applying the foil. The white parts of the body are where the foil was and the fender/door trim is the first Power Plus foil I reapplied
