At least the latest release has instrument and emblem decals and the body aside from needing body work to straighten it out is pretty decent. It builds into a decent shelf model.
I wonder if anyone ever built the radical custom version. ?. The rear treatment is the most bizarre idea I've ever seen. It makes no sense at all. Who would do that?
I was thinking exactly the same thing. But I guess back in 63, that custom rear end was probably considered futuristic.
The one I just finished in the under glass section I used clear red sprew, chopped the ends flat, and drilled in about a 16th. Then added curved fine wire from the strands of a junk electrical bus to fill in the middle trim. I should have used clear sprew on the middle backup light, but oh well.
Not a bad kit, but it was a lot of work to get things to fit. I extended the hood about a sixteenth inch to close the gap at the front. The box engine isn't worth displaying so I glued the hood shut. Taillight and antenna are scratch built. The paint is lighter than it looks in the photos.
