Built stock, that is a frustrating kit because of the inaccurate ride height. Its possible to get a nice model out of it, but takes alot of work if you have the time and patience. But if you are hot rodding it anyway it probably won't matter.

Thanks to all of you! Looking back on it I really should have filled and blended behind the headlight covers. There's no excuse other than laziness. As it sits on the shelf now, I'm done with it.

Thank you all of you for the kind words!

Nice stance. I like it.

Walmart is selling models again?

Put this together around 20 years ago. I remember getting frustrated over the warped body and threw it against a concrete basement wall smashing it into three pieces. After several weeks took it back out of the box to take another stab at it and eventually finished it. Saw one with Keystone mags at a Pizza joint and decided to replicate that. The red lines have deteriorated over the years. I think I put the wipers on upside down. Oh well.

Nicely done. I built that kit back in the early/mid 70's.

Top notch! She's a beauty.

Beautiful old Ford. You did a great job.

Thank you! Basically this was the lazyman's solution to the alterative of replacing the whole front end. It won't win any awards but looks alright on a shelf.

Vinney's brother got jealous so he went out and got an old race car too. The headlight bezels were long gone so he put a set of 37 Chevy beams in the front cowls since there was plenty of space. Naturally he had to have a quad exhaust too.
-
My cousin Vinney bought this old race car and put it on the street. But today he through some slicks on it and is taking it to the dragstrip. He added some kind of quad exhaust system I've never seen before. He had to move the dash-mounted rear view mirror to the windshield frame in order for his new tonneau cover to fit. Dig those oil stained white steelies!

Just build a barn over it.

The body detail isn't bad putting aside the out of scale problems. I've got extra 283s lying around to replace the blob in this kit, but being what it is, I think I will just glue the hood shut, build it with custom parts and try to give it some dignity. I plan to do the 62 too! I've got the Revell 58 unbuilt, but I plan to fart around with these "not so great" kits just for fun. That MPC 60 corvette seems like a worthy build too.

Great work. Love that interior.

I bought this off ebay and just noticed something out of whack. It appears Amt built this with the headlight bezels upside down.

Fantastic job

It seemed to be going along nice. Did you finish it? -
Thanks for the comments. It was a challenging project finding information and dealing with typical AMT fit issues (twisted frame, and filing half a pound of styrene off the firewall and inner front fenders to get the body to sit right) I think it came out pretty good.

This set up utilized the dual spark delco-remy distributor to take advantage of a dual coil ignition. The Fisher crossflow head had only one plug per cylinder so they adapted the ignition by staggering the plug wires. After researching the subject, this is my take on it. Feel free to add information as I found it hard to find.
