  1. If no alclad tamiya is close match gunmetal or light gunmetal LP-19 and LP-20
  2. Alclads gunmetal comes to mind
  3. Aqueous is 100% non toxic, and the Acrysion this is what I found about it. This is an epoch-making paint that can be used for both brush painting and air brush painting. Drying speed is faster than with the existing water based hobby colors, so work efficiency is improved dramatically.
  4. Ah okay. Never used Dupli colors primers - even though lot of folks have had success with it using automotive paints n such. I strictly use Mr surfacer primer. If I wasnt packing for my move I would test myself as I have few cans of the testors extreme diamond dust. Something in the 3n1 testors didn’t agree with the dupli color or vice versa.
  5. So what two primers did you use? Seems the one that did work is the primer you should use with this combo you’re doing.
  6. Currently moving myself still packing. I have a total of 11 XL boxes full of kits, and that’s not including the ones that are bigger than the box itself lol.
  7. After cleaning, and boxing up cause I’m moving soon I found a can of this lol. Didn’t know I had bought it. How durable is it? How many coats?
  8. Besides the revell & few others. ALL the Japan goodness ?. Great stuff man, and that morris mini cooper is a very clean kit. Haven’t built mine yet.
  9. I tested the spoon I shot with Alclads matte coat, and seems it likes to rub off to easily. Gonna give testors dull coat a try, but hopefully more products can be mentioned along with the Tamiya. Thank you.
  10. So I own Alclads matte coat, and I own testors dull coat. Haven’t used much of the dull coat, but the Alclads matte coat I tested on a painted spoon, and looked great, and dried perfectly fine. So used it on motorcycle frame 2 coats, and it’s been tacky for over 2 weeks. Some sections have took fingerprints, and looks rubbed off being shiny. I’m not sure what I did wrong, but should I re test or just use a new product? Not sure why it worked perfectly fine on the spoon test, and not the frame. I did use 1 coat on the spoon, and 2 coats on the frame.
  11. Got another charger from hobby lobby for $20. Everything else from hobby town. The Tamiya is Italian red, and Matt black.
  12. I remember getting mine from hobbylinc. I have seen this kit at hobby town for $50 which is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it.
  13. I own this kit, and I’ve looked myself n could never find anything.
  14. There’s another technique, but this applies more to Tamiya, and other Japanese kits. For kits with no window masks, and without buying aftermarket. This tip will help a lot as well.
  15. There’s actually quite a few aftermarket shifters you can get. Here’s a example.
  16. Yeah $12.99 here. The trailers, and big rigs are $19.99
  17. Yeah I have the type A mat. It’s great if I need something smaller than Tamiya’s 1mm.
  18. There thick cause there foam. Great for sanding on curves etc without losing the shape of the part.
  19. Got some paint on the CBR1000 RR-R engine block. Two of my favorite Tamiya LP colors titanium silver, and Mica Silver.
  20. New Makera bits came in today. Gorgeous! 0.2mm-1.1mm 1.2mm-2.1mm
  21. Yeah this brand of sand paper is great. I own all the types even the zebra type. The pads clog up fast sanding primer though, but so does Tamiya. You should try there sticky sheets that work for there photoetch mini sticks or basically anything you could stick em too. Great for getting into tiny areas, and I think go all the way up too 7k.
  22. From scalehobbyist. Have both Fireblades now. I’m hoping the pearl white over white primer will give me the proper white? If not I may have to order the proper color from zero paints.
