  1. You could try an adhesion promoter. There’s a ton of different ones, but this was the cheapest one. $8-$9.
  2. With regards to everything up top make sure you use a quality micro fiber or flannel cloth. Cheap micro fiber towels can leave scratches.
  3. You’re doing the right thing. Mr hobby’s primers are top notch, and besides Tamiya the only other primer that rivals it is titan hobby’s primer. I don’t use Tamiya because it’s no longer compatible with scalefinises paints. Mr hobbies primers work with everything I own, and basically fool proof, and with leveling thinner there is no need for anything else for an airbrush user. If all you could use is spray bombs, and get more bang for my buck? I would only use titan hobby’s primer as it’s 400mL a can for $13-$15 and rivals Tamiya, and Mr hobby.
  4. Mr hobby has a base white too
  5. The way I use the stuff I’ve never had any bleed through. Never had bleed through with Tamiya tape except once. But with the mask you have to treat it like tape as well with building up coats or you’ll get an edge you’d have to sand down. Max I ever do is 2 coats because to thin a coat can let paint through, and I like to use the mask along with tape depending on the part.
  6. I know this isn’t a car etc, but this came in today. Loving these 1/35 kits. So many parts, and details throughout.
  7. I don’t use this for masking a line, but for covering anything I don’t want paint to touch. It’s great stuff, and removes super easy with no residue. I’m sure it could be used for masking a line, but there may be other alternatives.
  8. Yeah it’s not difficult to mask especially if the panel line is good. There’s good videos on YouTube showing how it’s done. It’s no different than laying BMF imo. You’re just masking, and cutting along the panel line around the door. The rear on the Toyota Supra was a tad harder as the panel line around the window wasn’t the best, but I managed to do it. I also use an airbrush to do it not a paintbrush. The key is building up the coats, and not wet coats same as using an automotive paint .
  9. Your best best for a clean finish is masking, and using Tamiya LP-65 or LP-5. That’ll get you cleanest look and finish. Sharpies etc will work, but doesn’t look good imo. Even did the rear window the same mask, and airbrush.
  10. There good 2 part paints meaning you need a clear. There in the list of great automotive paints such as gravity colors(Spain), scalefinishes, MCW to name a few. unfinished bronco done in grabber orange by splash paints.
  11. 2K than foil. No need to seal BMF.
  12. You’re not gonna get that 1:1 color with Tamiya metallic blue.
  13. That’s what I use and there great.
  14. Temp case I got from HL. Got the unfinished bronco in it.
  15. This bad boy came in today from hobbylinc. $189 11 frets of PE, over 1600 parts, like 54 tires etc lol will take months on this.
  16. I can’t tell if that’s a kit part or a real fifth wheel lol
  17. You’re gonna have to sand that out.
  18. Tamiya has 3 different size jars you can buy. I own a ton of the 45mL jars, but there bout $3 a jar.
  19. Ollie’s, hobby lobby, scalehobbyist, sprue brothers. Already own the bronco, but for $20 had to get another one.
  20. Hmm not sure if mine got the new broncos yet. I have one already, but for $20 I’ll take another.
  21. It is lol. Recently seen a rare Tamiya kit super old for $4,999, but the funniest part was they wanted more for shipping than for the asking price. But lot of the issues besides pricing is the shipping. Like it doesn’t take $30 shipping to ship a small kit.
