  1. thanx for all the positive feedback...enjoyed building this one, so I started on another one - an early Ford roadster pick up powered by a 354 "caddy"
  2. I couldn't think of how I wanted to build this model when I opened the box...but had to build it, ya know! I said to mysedlf "Myself, you've never built a boxtop model and it's been awhile since ya built an "Out-of-the-box" model as well!" Plus the challenge of pullin' off black dragster version looked like fun, so here we are... thanx
  3. No problem, I agree with you on what we think as a dragster, but "dragster" sounded better than "drag car" or "drag queen"..
  4. Definition of a dragster per Webster: a vehicle built or modified for use in a drag race
  5. Oh yeah...the paint After decantering, I air brushed 2 parts Model Master's Afrika Mustard to 1 part Model Master's Olive Drab, then covered with Model Master's Ultra Gloss Clearcoat
  6. Inspiration from the '40 Ford pick up featured on cover of the August Street Rodder magazine Didn't want to trash the only '40 Ford pick up kit i had. Had plenty of old '50 Ford Pick up bodies laying around chopped the top 4 scale inches motor, rear end, air cleaners, wheels and front tires are from parts box narrowed and shortened the bed rear tires from amt Custom & Competition Racemaster Dragster Slicks front and rear Buick finned brakes decal from Steve A. scratch built: chassis, fuel cell, front suspension, rear suspension, tractor nose, exhaust system and driveshaft Paint is Model Master's Afrika Mustard (2 parts) - Olive Drab (1part) decanted/air-brushed and covered with Model Master's Ultra Gloss Clearcoat check out the build at: http://public.fotki.com/crtr8z/50-ford-lo-rider/50-ford-lo-rider-13.html#media thanx for lookin'...
  7. Built the drag version shown on box straight out-of-the-box What a nice kit, went together really well Paint is Tamiya TS-14 Black Thanx for lookin...
  8. Yes, they do...the detail is actually closer to Hasegawa car models
  9. These DTM models have to be some of the best engineered plastic models Revell-Germany has ever produced. The fit is amazing, which is good because the only way you can put the front bonnet in place involves lifting the upper body off of the lower body. The upper body has four tabs to secure it to the lower body. This is the 2nd DTM car I've built, built the Audi version earlier...may have to pick up a few more enjoy: thanx for lookin'...
  10. Hey Buddy...this one almost slipped by me... very-very nice build I'm gonna have to make you a bunch of wire-spoke wheels for the front of these dragsters thanx for sharing
  11. Fantastic... growing up as an "Autoworld Junkie", I really like this model... I thought I'd built all of the "Dave Neal" cars ...know I gotta try and find the "McLapper" I do remember seeing a picture of Oscar with the winged helmet thanx for sharing
  12. hey Art... looks like fun the one plus of not finding reference photos of a subject is you have control of the build...nobody else has it either, but there will be someone out there who knows everything there is to know about the dang car the minus is it gives you choices instead of just duplicating a model of the real thing be keepin' an eye on it
  13. This is what happens when ya take a 1/25th '95 Cobra Mustang, stretch the chassis about 5/8th of an inch... and stick it under a '61 Ford Ranchero... kinda looks like this: base courtesy from my buddy Raul Perez thanx for lookin'...
  14. The Jimmy Flintstone resin body comes with the bed molded in place...did nothing but paint it. You will have to modify the interior, I used the front seat and custom made a rear shelf that drops in behind the seat. had a friend make a resin copy of it for those who may want to build this conversion just PM me if interested in getting a copy
  15. When I saw Jimmy Flintstones resin Hudson...I found the perfect tow vehicle for the Midget Racer. Was very pleased with the quality of his model, it went on the Moebius chassis easily and the glass fit just fine with minimal clean up on the body. Paint is Scalefinishes "Hudson Honey Cream" The Offenhauser-Midget is a fantastic model, builds up fairley easily...just went with the decals in the kit. Paint is Scalefinishes "McLaren Orange" Dirtied both of'em up to make it seem real enjoy... thanx for lookin'...
  16. the 1/25th scale " Engine Hop-up Kit for Flat 4 Cylinder Engine" I used was Part #P-133 17 pieces...includes: Weber Carbs Intakes Velocity Stacks for Air Cleaners Pulley/Fan Belt Pre-Drilled Distributor Cap Generator Coil Fuel Pump Megaphone Exhaust
  17. What a fun little kit to build... added "Engine Hop-Up Kit" from Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland Wheels from the Revell '32 Ford collection, tires from Parts box thanx for lookin'...
  18. Picked this kit up @ the NNL West for $5.00...it had been started and was in bad shape. Was able to clean it up, decals were still good. It sure is a good looking car, didn't do well on the track thou thanx for looking...
  19. a couple of very-very nice salt shakers...
  20. Very nice...my best/worse memory of building the Newman 956 was painting the body
  21. Nice recovery... A buddy gave me a 1/12 Tyrell 6-wheeler to finish for him going thru the box I found the same Tyrell as you rebuilt in all kinda parts, he was not aware there was a 2nd F1 model in the box built both of them...after-market decals are a blessing! returned the completed models to him at the same time, he was quite surprized again great job and it's good to see F1 models pop up on this board now and then
  22. I couldn't agree more love those Tamiya F1 models great job on the 312 T4
  23. thanx It is 1/20th scale, but it does seem a little large in comparison to other models I have in that scale
  24. A yellow Bugatti...? A good friend gave me this kit to build, not sell on ebay It has been a long time since I've tackled one of these Revival kits...everything is held together by itty-bitty screws and superglue To my surprise, when I opened the box everything was Bugatti Blue instead of Yellow, but I was already set on the Yellow Sanded and primed the blue away and painted it Rustoleums "Marigold" Yellow Boy...I had forgot how much cleanup was necessary on all the metal parts Really-Really nice Wire Wheels...decided to go with a silver finish on the wheels instead of black well here it is: Thanx for lookin'...
