  1. Dave click on "M", scroll down to: Mstang - Shelby GT350
  2. Here's a link to a company in Australia he makes decals in all scales, primarily for slot cars excellent quality, a little pricey when you throw in shipping...but sometimes ya gotta just bite the bullet http://members.optus...place/home.html he does list this decal as being available in 1/12th scale good luck...
  3. thanx John you know how it is...ya get on a roll and "bingo" it's done hope to see you in February
  4. thanx Virgil nobody's gonna mistake it for an OCC or West Coast Chopper creation... I like bikes that are daily drivers and look to be ride-able these Revell bikes are fun to play with c'ya
  5. More photos of the bike... again, thanx for lookin'...
  6. Watching John Teresi build his "Pancho Villa Bagger" inspired me to build another bike. Grabbed one of the 1/12th Revell bikes from my "stache". Assorted resin parts, i.e. big fuel tank, electricals, hand grips and carb's from Norm at Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland. Plus tires and wheels from the bike spare parts box. Tweeked the frame, removing some of the "rake" out of the front fork, rebuilt the front forks using aluminum tubing, fabricated the seat and added wires/cables. more photos comin' in follow up post... thanx for lookin'
  7. This model has been on and off my workbench for the past 20 years. It is from "SJS Resins" a company that hasn't been around for 20 plus years. A relatively rough casting of a unique subject matter. It took a lot of work to get it presentable.Used the AMT 3100 Chevrolet Pickup as the base kit, just had to stretch the chassis to get the wheels/tires to fit. Biggest issue was the warpage between the upper and lower body, readily apparent from a rear 3/4 view. Paint is Model Master's Bright Aqua Pearl Lacquer No.28115 with a couple of UltraGloss Clearcoats. Had to put something in the bed of the truck, so...now I had a reason to finish building the Go-Kart from Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland Overall, I'm happy with the final result... Thanx for lookin'
  8. Sad, Sad, Sad day in the scale auto modeler world... Randy was a friend - who I enjoyed having numerous conversations with about building model cars. Now joining his beloved wife Cassie in model heaven... He will surely be missed by the car modelers in the San Francisco Bay area... the NNL West just won't be the same without him. Good Bye my friend!
  9. actually, Barney had a real gun and I think Andy kept the bullet...
  10. workin' on a 2nd tin... found the source of the decal, thanx to fellow modeler Steve Allemand it's from Slixx decals - part #1485/FS3 again thanx for all the complements... Raul & Bernard. lookin' forward to your V-12 Lincolns soon c'ya
  11. Vintage Raving Miniatures http://www.v-r-m.com/ has came out with a couple of sheets for both... I know there are a few others doing decals as well hope this helps...
  12. thanx I have no idea where the decals came from I save decals from kits, etc. storing them in an old "Jack Daniels" tin box sorry I couldn't help you c'ya
  13. Raul is just fine...sometimes "life" gets in the way of model building He has been busy selling a big chunk of his diecast collection on eBay and started playing with his N-gauge trains again He will be finishing the Alfa Batmobile before the NNL West in February, so he has told me and Bernard.
  14. John I got to see the real car at the Concourse de Elegance @ Pebble Beach a couple of years ago here's a few photos: Built this same model a few years back...great kit begging for the extra detail you can put into a model. Remember the everything from the doors rearward are covered in canvas...not s'sposed to be shiny have fun lookin' forward to seeing your build of this model c'ya
  15. Hasegawa and Fujimi have some excellent 1/20th F1 kits readily available, found them to be more detailed than Tamiya should find them with a simple Google search
  16. Mucho Goodo! excellent model John... you've inspired me to dig out those 1/12 Revell bikes and all the extra goodies I've picked up for'em and build another bike thanx....I think c'ya
  17. Fellow Formula One modeler... there are a few of us on this forum, don't be discouraged...F1 models do get a good response when posted! Also, there are a lot of forums available covering F1 models. My brother and I started building F1 models from Tamiya back in the 70's. He has gone onto model trains while I continue building model cars, etc. My interests have fluctuated over the years, building everything from dragsters, motorcycles, street rods up to rat rods. F1 models are still my favorite to build. Not to crazy about the modern F1 cars, but still the best "racecars" money can buy...! Modern racing is getting to be a collection of "cookie cutter" series, cars all look the same...only difference is sponsorship. As you have found out,Tamiya F1 kits are dang near flawless, but check out the 1/20th F1 kits Hasegawa and Fujimi are putting out...pricey though! My F1 builds can be found by following the link below to my fotki site have fun and let's see some F1 models thanx
  18. I have some tacky-gauze tape for my fingers when playin' golf...it doesn't work for that very well! I was wondering how it would do wrapping an exhaust header...worked better than I had imagined! Just cut thin strips and started wrapping...the stuff sticks to itself quite nicely I'll make jpg. of the stuff and post later thanx
  19. yep...they sure do: http://earlyyearsresin.webs.com/ have fun
  20. One the theme's for the 2012 NNL West is V-12's... so I picked up the Lincoln V-12 from Early Resins and stuck it in the 1925 Model "T" Ford re-issued by AMT. The Lincoln V-12 fit quite nicely into the Model "T" chassis Wanted to build a car that might have run on the dry lake beds and salt flats in the 60's. I enjoyed building this model, had to "dust" her up a bit to make it look like she was havin' fun... Thanx for lookin'...
  21. Found a few engines laying around...
  22. Hey Peter, love the paint on the fingers...sign of a true modeler!
  23. Peter It's great to see you're still around... love this car, you're doing a fantastic job of recreating it any chance a spare body may find it's way to Hollister, CA? will be enjoying watch you bring this car to life c'ya oh yah...the limit of 4 - 5 photos per post messed me up as well i use fotki and have not had any issues of getting the text and photos to work with each other...
  24. Great Job on these wonderful racing cars from the glory days of Trans Am Fred Cady Decals and Replica & Miniatures of Maryland Trans Am conversion kit made it all possible brings back fond memories of when I built models of these cars. don't have any of'em left...Ken Epsen (who owns the real Posey Challenger, Donohue Camaro and Javelin race cars) bought all of'em as Christmas presents for the guys who own the real racers, kinda cool
  25. And have a few more (sure do miss the ability to post 10 photos)
