  1. Here it is on the instruction sheet: Not sure where these came from, either, so I'll add them as #24...low back with no headrests, so pre-1970 or so, AMT or MPC?:
  2. Then they are the custom seats from the 1/24 Monogram '55 Chevrolet/Badman kit.
  3. Does seat #20 have the number 81 on the backside, by chance? I think the light blue seat, #18, is the custom seat from the AMT '49 Ford kit. Does it have the hollow, round cylinder on the bottom?
  4. This is flat out gorgeous so far, Bruce.
  5. Please, do. The more the merrier, as long as we limit things to aftermarket racing style bucket seats.
  6. I'm surprised anyone would recommend the above engine. The valve covers are kinda-sorta close, but have incorrect indentations, and the generic, perfectly smooth engine block (with a axlerod clearance notch to boot) is downright awful. The cylinder heads are blocky and lacking any real detail, too. I will grant you there is no good AMC late V8 engine in any kit, but the AMT Matador engine is pretty crude, and really not something I would recommend to anyone.
  7. If no aftermarket sources turn up, you may want to consider those from the modern--era tooling Revell '41 Willys drag version triplet kits:
  8. They are extremely close, so that was a very good guess. I just looked at an eBay listing, and the AMT '49 Mercury seats have a round tube/sleeve on the bottom, and this seat doesn't, so it must be from another kit. No, all are solid styrene.
  9. Bert Straus: One of those odd GM Canada things where they got the Astre a few years before the U.S. did. I'd just as well wait for the ex-JO-HAN tooling/kit, last seen as a Mercury Comet 'Pro Street', to reappear, as I have my doubts a stock Maverick or Vega would sell well. Even with alternate Pro Stock versions, it sounds risky.
  10. Correct. Mark, I purchased it from eBay. It was sold by a former Revell employee, but I'm not sure if it was the same seller as the VW Beetle and Firebird above or not, though. Just search for "test shot" in the Automotive models section, either current or completed listings, and you'll see a few others.
  11. That's it, thanks. Sprue attachment point matches, too.
  12. Thanks, Stu. I think I have the smaller size Revell seat, and the plastic looks like the '60s era Revell plastic, too. As for seat #10, it's very close to the AMT '49 Mercury seat, but a bit more squared off, so it's not quite a match.
  13. This was built by Ted "Chopper" Lear. Not sure he is an active member here, but you could probably reach him through facebook, too:

  15. Thanks Bill and Mark, the list has been updated. Mark, I thought the overturned seat was the same as the black seat behind it when I photographed them, but you're right-- they're definitely different:

  20. When did aftermarket racing style bucket seats first appear? Here are some aftermarket racing style (to differentiate them from custom type bucket seats) found in 1/24 and 1/25 scale kits, and a list of the kit(s) in which they were included (click twice on the image to enlarge): Revell '56 Chevy MPC '69 Mustang Revell Henry J, Willys pickup, Austin AMT '70s Chevy Camaro kits AMT Competition T-Body Parts Pack . 21. The Piranha Rear Engine Dragster kit, AMT #1122, should be out soon, for those who want only the dragster:
