  1. I cast them. Already back in the parts bin with a few other things. Yes, cutting the 'nose' off is the easy part. Still looking for a nice mechanical fuel injection manifold for the early Hemi, too, if anyone has any suggestions.
  2. http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/4662-amt-model-kits-garage-accessory-series-set-3/#sthash.iz7hqXLO.dpbs The decal sheet included with the Weekend Wrenchin'/Set #1 kit:
  3. Kudos to whoever at Round2 was aware this body is in fact a sedan delivery, and not a panel truck, and correctly labelled the kit as such. They are nice, provided they aren't any sink marks in them, especially the narrower front wheels. I have a bunch from various issues and at least 70%+ suffer from at least one sink mark, sometimes multiple.
  4. I would bet on it coming back within the 18 months. Round2 showed off pics of that very mold on Instagram earlier this year:
  5. Yes, merely a placeholder at this point, but at least it's something tangible for now. I think we may be pleasantly surprised with this one, as Tim Boyd hinted at in the general MPC 2019 Trucks topic. If the tooling for the LWB Dodge D/W pickup was buggered up enough, it may have been more cost effective to tool up a new SWB Sweptside bed and include it with the existing Dodge D-100 (LRE Truck) kit.

  7. Now that many of the vintage Revell molds are in the possession of Atlantis Toy & Hobby, they aren't wasting any time putting some of them to use. These pics were on Atlantis' facebook page, showing the Revell(?) USS Iowa molds set up in the injection molding machine, getting ready to be run:
  8. Coca-cola saturation aside, the box art is certainly an improvement over the previous reissue.
  9. I have to think those'd be better sellers than a Squarebird, but maybe not? Maybe this is the last of the 1/32 Scale Stars from AMT.
  10. Were these wheels and chrome steelies ever used in another Revell kit? I noticed the wheels are 'paddlewheel' style, so new tires would've been necessary no matter what, but I don't think I've seen these before.
  11. The vertical part of the center console, where it flows up into the dash is referred to as the center stack. Looks good so far, but always remember to try to minimize any gaps-- the tighter the parts fit and the more surface area between the two parts that touch, the better. That also means less putty, and less sanding-- always a good thing. One suggestion when taking photos, too. Try turning the area you are focusing on so that the light hits it and illuminates that area. In your second pic, only the shifter boot and he area around it in the light, making everything else in the shadows, and more difficult to see. Not sure if you're headed in this direction or not, but if you plan to use the GT500's engine and trans, make sure you do some assembly (even temporary with white glue or similar) to check the fit up against the '57's floorpan and trans/driveshaft tunnel.
  12. Or as a stand-alone Parts Pack offering.
  13. Looks like the 1/25 AMT '69 Chevelle SS 396 Hardtop kit is going to be reissued in a 1969 style box: Looks pretty close to the original box:
  14. The MPC '32 Ford Sedan Delivery from the "Switchers" series returns, this time with Coca-Cola decals:
  15. Preliminary box art for the forthcoming 1/25 MPC Dodge D-100 Pickup kit:
  16. Well, that's good to hear. I think the stand-alone idea is a good one, too, and may be easier than trying to package it all together again.
  17. Maybe PM JC and ask him if he could share?: Some disassembled previously built up pics here:
  18. I use the x-acto aluminum miter box and razor saw combo, as Bill suggests. After you complete the cut (90* or 45* are your only real option for accuracy with the x-acto box, though), you can slide the tubing to the end of the box and square it up with a file, sanding stick, etc., then de-burr like Bill mentioned. I'd also recommend a nice set of jewelers files if you're going to be working with aluminum and brass tubing. I have an older Craftsman set but I doubt they are even available anymore. Just be sure to buy a quality set. x-acto miter (mitre if you're Canadian ) box:
