  1. Hopefully when someone builds this they raise the rear ride height a few inches and add some width to the rearend to push the wheels and tire out a bit wider, closer to the real car's fitment. It looks like the chrome steel wheels aren't as deep as they should be, and that was probably a compromise to allow them to actually fit the model without modification or adding new parts:
  2. I love the box art for the original release, just not crazy 'bout the kit inside. It's not terribly distorted, and the clear parts well well-molded, optically speaking, but it's a compromise.
  3. No idea if they have any others planned, but three (almost) all released at the same time is a pretty good effort. I think the two-post lift is a good idea, as it won't require using (and having to detail paint) the figure, plus, it allows the underside of the vehicle to be shown off when the lift is in the raised position. I was juts a but perturbed regarding why the Aurora Racing Scenes style box art was used, but if it was to attract attention, well, it worked on one person. I don't think so, but you can bet once they are they will be all over eBay and other online sellers. I think all three have a staggered release, so one each month from December through February or so I would guess.
  4. x3. The 1998 AMT/Ertl reissue was one of the worst kits I've ever purchased. Chrome plating/undercoat was runny, had trapped particles, was dull all over...garbage. Totally unusable. The base had many sinks marks, which can't be filled unless you can perfectly match the diamond tread pattern, and it was warped, too. Suspension is simplified and a bit too thick overall. The clear parts were decent, but both roof vents and the door are molded in place. The idea of a clear trailer is a bit ridiculous, and if you're buying it with the intent on painting the exterior there are far better trailers available. If you're buying it as a display case(!), what are you thinking??!! Buy a display case instead. You've been warned! : http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/784/25-amt-display-case-trailer
  5. That has been mentioned in the past, but I don't recall ever reading specifically what was modified, and to what extent. This instruction sheet page isn't great, but I don't see any major mods to the chassis plate itself?: As Rob hinted at above, I wonder if it's the leaf springs and axle parts which were lost when the Ram Tuff version was created.
  6. Pics of the last reissue, the "Ram Tuff" Monster Truck: Compare the above chrome plated parts to the '79 "Pumping Iron" reissue to see what changed:
  7. Note the hood changed, too. The '78 LRE had the 'bird bath' hood, while the '79 LRE had the later style ('79-'80) hood, so if both grilles and hoods exist, Round2 should be able to issue a '78 and '79. I wouldn't be surprised to see an MPC '79 Li'l Red Express Truck kit reissued eventually.
  8. Even if each unique grille still exists as a separate insert, there's likely only one 'space' for it as part of the larger mold assembly, so it wouldn't be possible to produced more than one grille at a time, along with the rest of the kit. Now, a separate kit, with a different grille an other parts (big IF, as in if those parts exist as a separate insert and could be interchanged), maybe, but I suspect the earlier grilles are gone for good.
  9. Looks like part #6 "Rear backing plate" is used on both sides:
  10. Another look at the contents: https://scaledworld.net/amt-vw-scirocco
  11. You can always build it yourself, using the tires from the Ford Cruising Van reissue:
  12. HPIGuy/Chris delivers the goods via video again:
  13. I do have the eight carb manifold from the AMT '53 Ford pickup, so that might work with some re-shaping. I don't mind if all four injector bases are joined together by a common baseplate, but the more detail present or the closer to the rounded shape of the rear injector bases, the better. I did check out the tilt-nose tutorial, too, Bill, thanks. I may need to use a long/short arm on each side or incorporate a fore-aft slide to allow the fenders' rear tips to clear the body.
  14. The only changes I would like to see made are the "General" board changed to "General Discussion", and the "Model Building Questions & Answers" board moved up and directly under "General Discussion", as part of the larger "General" category.
  15. First quarter of 2019, probably late February or early March or so?
  16. A centrally-positioned driver close enough to kiss the windshield and mid-mounted engine, wrapped in a four-door sedan. Not a lot in common with the Badman.
  17. Thanks, Barry. I bought the Revell Tony Nancy 22Jr SSP double kit not that long ago, but didn't love the engines. The 22Jr's Buick also appears to suffer from the same issue as the AMT engine, at least as far as I can see in the lone image I took of those parts: Thanks, Jim. I think a street/strip type exhaust would be appropriate for this car, and I do see what appears to be a muffler under the rear fender, too.
