  2. "But their intention was to build more than just a replica – this 1:1 Badman was to be a nod towards what used to be and what could be, all the while staying true to the original model." I was wondering the the same, but it's an homage to the original Badman, not an exact replica.
  3. Jeremy, I right clicked this image from your fb page, then selected "Copy Image URL", then used the image icon here in the toolbar at the top of the reply box, pasted it, so that method works for me using Google Chrome: Dave Ambrose is looking into the problem, so we'll hear from him when and if he finds something.
  4. The very nature of most HOF's is that they are not easy to get into. They only accept the best of the best so to speak, those who represent the highest level of building, or have a profound or wide-reaching impact on the hobby as a whole. Just building nice models which take home a blue ribbon at a local or national event isn't good enough. Lots of people do that, regardless if they are "known" or have their work published and or shown online. The passage of time also helps to put things into a clearer perspective, and tends to even out the peaks and valleys of perception, so that's another reason they don't induct anyone who's new or come onto the scene in that last five years. If that person's work and contributions are worthy of induction into the HOF, they will get there. Any list is subjective and based upon the voter's opinions, but so far, I think the MCBM's choices have been very good, and the inductees all worthy.
  5. I want to say Frontier Resin makes a '54, too, and they currently have a '54 Panel Truck on eBay.
  6. '54 Chevy Pickup info: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12539&hl=%26quot%3B54+chevy%26quot%3B#entry102327 I haven't seen anyone casting the AMT/SMP longbed you asked about. Maybe because of the trim differences? American SATCO supposedly acquired the molds and was going to produce curbside kits, but that never happened.
  7. I have some of the '67 Chevelle wheelbacks on hand, so I can try out some of the disc brake rotors/calipers I have on them, too. Did we decide which wheels to use for the build?
  8. What outside rotor diameter do you need?
  9. Welcome aboard the project, Carlos. You'll be up next and handle the chassis/suspension/exhaust. Fred is setting up the specific ride height now since he's done it many times on the kit, but when he's done with the engine work, he will send everything off to you. When he gets closer to being finished, you two can contact each other and exchange addresses and such.
  10. I think the nose of the Olds is longer than the Chevy, too, so the Revell '50 Olds hood might not even fit the Revell 1/25 '53/4 Chevy kits, either.
  11. It's a conversion kit for use with the Revell kit, it appears: http://bestmodelcarparts.com/products.php?view=productPage&product=240&category=1
  12. I agree. Even if you never get the desire back, and sell everything model related you have, so be it. People come in and out of this and many other hobbies all the time, but if you're no longer interested, spend your time doing something else. Life is too short to make yourself try to do something your heart isn't into.
  13. Best thing to come out of this topic.
  14. I would contact Keith Marks and ask if he makes them. His contact info is here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71864
  15. While the Rat Rod craze may or may not be far from "over", this topic is, before it deteriorates any further.
  16. I think this is the closest thing you'll find right now: http://www.scaleracingreplicas.com/#!resin/cfvg
  17. Plus, this topic was covered, or at least mentioned, once before, so it may be old news to some. I suspect the difference in the front and rear wheel opening diameter of these tires is making a few people go --->
  18. I don't think any company currently makes either of them, Jason.
  19. It didn't sell. The auction ended, and when you check the Completed Items listings, the price is in red, which means it didn't actually sell. I think a sold auction will state "Sold for: $xxx.00" when it actually sells, and it the price will be in green, too.
  20. That's probably a fair question, Luc, and I'm pretty sure TD falls under the former category, while Tom West would be in the latter, at least based on the part drawings he drew for the 1/16 Aurora Racing Scenes kits. One might say without the original sketch/idea there is no kit later, but someone's got to take the idea through to production, too.
  21. Ideally a list would be cross-referenced by engine manufacturer (say, Buick Nailhead, Chrysler early Hemi, etc.), kit manufacturer, scale, and contain lots of info regarding how detailed the engine is. The Monogram Boot Hill Express and AMT '32 Ford kits both include an early Hemi, but I'd never suggest anyone use it for a serious project, so while knowing which kit the engine you seek is found in is a good start, it doesn't tell you how good (or poor) the engine is. It would take a massive amount if time and effort to categorize and describe/photograph every kit engine, especially if every entry was done to the sane standard (full description of parts, clear, close-up images of parts, optional parts listed, etc.), but would be a hugely valuable resource.
  22. His construction methods were ratty, but his vehicles were show rods with tons of chrome and fancily painted bodies.
  23. I think Joseph from Fireball Modelworks is working on a corrected set?
  24. Yes, you do, so accept them as differences and move on. If you have a personal problem with what someone posts here, take it up via PM, instead of hashing it out in public on the forum.
  25. I've never seen any, but have considered trying to make some. I think even regular (i.e. non wrinkle wall nor pie crust) slicks with a small amount of sidewall bulge at the 6:00 position would be nice to have.
