1/25 Revell '70 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda 2'n1
Casey replied to MachinistMark's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'm sure Tim couldn't say even if he knew, but I would bet a princely sum Revell will announce it as part of it's 2014 4Q announcements. Give the original release a year to sell, then add the first modified reissue to the lineup. -
Revell 1955 Chevy Belair Hardtop - Test Shot Pics & Review

Apply them over the whitewall/stripe band decals, and presto, raised black letter tires. The original Revell '55 Bel Air Hardtop kit included some nice Firestone tires, too. -
Revell is reissuing the 'Can-Do' (Steeps) tow truck...

Looks like this kit is available now: -
I applied a coat of gray primer, did some block sanding on and around the top half of the driver's door, rescribed the door to body gaps, and filled of the frame rail sections surrounding the fuel tank since the last update. Today I glued on a thin strip of styrene to even out the mid-body door to quarter panel area, but still need to add the convex top edge back in. The driver's door handle, lock cylinder, Tradesman 300 nameplate, and mid body stainless trim were all removed, and I've started working on the nose to be more accurate. The convex curve in the hood was a bit too sharp, and the cowl panel and molded in wipers will get some attention, too. Here's how the frame looks after shortening, removing all of the molded in/on details, and cleaning everything up. I applied some putty this evening to fill some sink marks and other imperfections, so that has yet to be sanded: The fuel tank will be separate, so I need to add the topside, then create a new front crossmember, add spring pockets to the frame rails, make the strut rod mounts, figure out the new floor and rear wheelhouses...still a long way to go.

Mill City Replicas makes a stock '33 Willys Coupe with a separate dash.

I don't recall what is shared between all the MPC '71-'78 B-body kits, but the '73-4 Roadrunner was released in two versions within the last two years, so assuming some parts can and are still shared between the '71 and '73-4 kits, and assuming the body mold section has not been lost nor damaged, I think Round2 could make it happen for a LOT less than a new or heavily modified kit. I don't recall Round2 releasing any heavily modified reissues (similar to your proposed '71 RR based on the AMT '71 Charger R/T) since they took over AMT, MPC, and Polar Lights, and I believe the forthcoming '71 Demon is going to be the first, so we'll see how that goes. I was never a huge fan of AMT's '71 Duster 340 kit (though some of its parts are quite nice), but I think the '70 Coronet Super Bee kit is a good example of how a vintage MPC body can be combined with a more modern AMT kit to create a good "new" kit/modified reissue.

A few pics of the 1/25 Monogram "Car Show" branded version: http://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/49/revell-chevy-bel-air-hardtop -
Yes, that would be a good starting point, and they could share suspension, engine, and other drivetrain/steering parts, but the Charger and Roadrunner bodies share almost nothing externally (maybe the windshield?), and the interiors are different, save for the Rallye dash frame. Upholstery would all be low-line for a Roadrunner. I think Round2 would be better off reissuing the ex-MPC '71 Roadrunner kit, however it currently exists, and letting advanced builders kitbash it with the '71 Charger as they wish. Factor in nostalgia, and based on both what's inside and on the outside of the box, you've got an easy reissue that will sell:

Wait, what!? Moebius was working on creating an all-new version of the Rommel's Rod kit?

That's the 1/25 MPC kit, and there was also the 1/24 Monogram "Mustang Hatchback Pace Car" kit:

Mill City Replicas - '41 Ford COE?

Here's Mill City Replicas' current product catalog and contact info, straight from Randy: -
Yes. The exhaust manifolds in the '70 Monte Carlo are quite nice, and I think it has a TH-350 or -400 behind it, too.

AMT is reissuing the '69 convertible in the next dew months, so I'm assuming it will be much like the '69 hardtop kit, without any major changes. That said, the chassis could use upgrading, so either the MPC/AMT '69 Olds Cutlass 442/Hurst Olds or the more recent Revell '72 Olds Cutlass kits could be the chassis donor for the '69 Chevelle. While you're at it, one of Revell's ('65, '66, '67 Chevelles/El Camino) or AMT's ('69 El Camino, '70 Monte Carlo) BBC's would be a big upgrade over the AMT '69 Chevelle's engine, too.

There's a review topic for the recently reissued AMT 1/25 scale kit here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72221&hl=opel For a Pro Mod, yes, but from what I recall and have seen, the Opels used in Gasser classes back in the day looked rather close to stock, with enlarged rear wheel arches: S-W-C really enlarged the wheel arches on this one, but the rest of the body looks pretty close to the factory shape and contours: I'm guessing the most difficult part would be finding one of these 1/20 scale kits, though.

It was exactly one month ago that Steve Goldman posted pics from the Toledo NNL...: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64836&p=1023345 ...and Dave Metzner posted about them, too, a few days later: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=64836&p=1026651 -
Brake lines are usually to 3/16" (.1875"), divide by 25 and you get .0075", so you'll need 32 gauge wire. Fuel lines are larger, usually 5/16", 3/8" or 1/2" to 5/8" for higher performance applications. Ignition wires are usually 7mm-10mm, so 29-26 gauge. Radiator hoses range from 1-1/2"-2" for typical cars and small trucks, so 15 gauge at the smaller end. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_wire_gauge

I remember you mentioning wanting it to be reissued (didn't your brother own one?) on rec.models.scale usenet group in the '92-'94-ish time period, then I thought I remembered it being reissued in the SSP not long after that.
