  1. I'm 99.99% positive it was reissued as part of the SSP in the mid '90s. Rob Hall would probably remember.
  2. This is the same thing as Sodium Hydroxide, NaOH, and is the active ingredient in Easy Off oven cleaner in the yellow can, Dawn Power Dissolver, most drain cleaners, etc.
  3. 1/20th scale is pretty much the zombie zone for model cars, so it would really have to be a labor of love for someone to undertake that as a project. Maybe if they designed it to work with the 1/20 MPC Altered T and 'Vette Funny Car chassis.
  4. I noticed one of Loewy's designs is a Google Doodle today, and it turns out today is his birthday, so if you're into Studebakers, coke bottles, streamlined trains, and just plain classic design work, check out his impressive body of work. http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/nov/05/google-doodle-raymond-loewy-designer
  5. You can e-mail Tapani and ask him if it's still available: raurata@yahoo.com
  6. See, wishes do come true.
  7. Different box, same kit?
  8. Thanks for doing the dirty work, Andrew, and thanks for the update. Let us know when it arrives, please, Fred.
  9. Slixx created the Wild Willie Borsch and at least one more 1/16 Charger F/C decal sheet when the Chrager kit was reissued in 1999(?), and I see they have a 1/25 Ray Alley Engine Masters sheet already, so hopefully they will offer a few more.

Model Empire http://www.modelempireusa.com/ is having their annual Open House on December 1st, 2013, so get there and get some incredibly good deals on built ups, partially built kits, promos, unbuilt kits, dig through the parts boxes, decal sheets, as look through their normal store inventory.

  12. Here are the labels from three different cans of spray paint-- Tamiya Fine White Primer, Testor's One Coat Lacquer, and Duplicolor High build grey primer: 120* F seems to be the agreed upon maximum temperature the can and/or it's contents should reach before it becomes unsafe, so stay under that temperature and you should be fine. Now, there are different ways to warm a spray, and the Tamiya can specifically states "Do not expose to heat...", the Testors can says "Keep from heat and flame", and the Duplicolor can reads "keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame," so if you choose to warm the can, don't use an open flame and ensure you can keep it under 120*F, regardless if that heat source is a candle warmer, hot tap water, or a food dehydrator.
  13. That should work. Follow the auto primer (Duplicolor) and you'll need a clearcoat over the top, too.
  14. No need to cut up an extended cab, Daniel, as AMT made a '92 F-150 standard cab 2WD kit which could be the base kit for your project:
  15. Original 1962-issue Revell '56 Ford Pickup box with parts from various issues inside, but I was only after the box. I also picked up a set of wheels from the Monogram '85 T/A and the optional "Nugget" wheels from the '80s issue of the 1/24 Monogram '85 Monte Carlo SS kit.
  16. I didn't get much, and I didn't see much I was even interested in. The plastic to die-cast seller ratio was about 25% to 75%, and seemed a bit more in favor of die-cast than usual. Kenny, there will be a show as part of the December swap meet at the Waukesha Expo Center. I will post the info tomorrow or later tonight.
  17. Remember the "New & Improved!" Bare Metal Foil? It may have been the former, but not the latter, and BMF Co. changed it back, so maybe the same thing applies to Future. Wait, I have a "vintage 2012, Old Formula bottle" I'm gonna hoard.
  18. New post title, since they keep changing the name.
  19. It's still around, but it hasn't faired too well: http://www.kuriositas.com/2013/09/kalakala-make-or-break-time-for-worlds.html
  20. 1) John took care of 2) http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69669&hl=fenderwell 3) If you're thinking of an early '61-'67 Ford Econoline beam front axle, look into the Lindberg '64 Dodge A-100 first. Another source might be the Revell '56 Ford pickup kit, which includes both stock and dropped front beam axles. 4) This can probably be found in the Revell '55-'57 Chevy kits (the older versions...not sure if the newer Black Widow includes one or not).
  21. Terry, hopefully you saw this, but if not, Revell is releasing an all new kit of the 2013 Boss 302 which should contain the Coyote engine: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=80411&page=1
  22. Straight outta AMT's Kustom Korner at the '62 World's Fair
  23. I think it might be Frontier Resin Design who made it, Roger, but not totally sure. They are located in Duquesne, PA: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1940-ford-panel-ran-till-47-/331056246905?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4d147d7079
