  1. I just copied and pasted the ".." link from your album and it works fine. You don't need to click on and use the image icon on the header bar unless you're trying to re-post and image which is hosted elsewhere on the web. If the image is hosted in your fotki, Photobucket, etc. album, use the "..." or "code for forums" links and post them directly in the body of your message.
  2. The upper and lower door sections, above and below the interior door panel, should be black for a '70 black & white interior:

  4. I wasn't happy with it, either, so I went the route you're thinking of going. You sound like you know what you're in for and you know the risks, so here's where I'm at right now on the Revell '69 Dart cowl vent grille: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=59517&p=951626 Using a p/e part seemed like the easiest way to pull this off successfully since the perfect spacing between bars and gaps is there from the start, but you've also got to get the p/e section flush with the surrounding area, both ends of the gaps have to be correct, and you have to make sure you don't bend one, and...yeah, you get the picture. If I could've found a piece of p/e which was both the correct length and width, it would've been much easier, so hopefully you can get a custom piece made for this purpose.

  6. It always cracks me up to see them when either of you post. Carry on...
  7. I dunno, but are your avatar and SSNJim's related?
  8. I was wondering who was gonna bump this topic after Chuck mentioned the kit last week.
  9. This kit has some really nice stock BBC exhaust manifolds, too. I also like the BBC found in the Revell '65 Chevelle Z-16 kit, and it's all stock, too. The Monogram/Revell '93 Chevy S-10/Syclone kit includes a nice 4.3L V-6 with a deep sump oil pan, two intake options (TBI or carbureted), and a 700R4 trans. The previously mentioned I-6 in the AMT '60 Chevy Pickup kit is nice, as is the I-6 in the Revell '41 Chevy Pickup. I really like the Ford V8 (not even sure of the displacement) found in the Revell Matt & Debbie Hay Pro Street T-Bird and Lincoln LSC kits, but it doesn't have a normal intake setup (but does have dual front mounted blowers). The Ford Motorsport valve covers are very nice and all the little engine bits are nicely detailed, too, and it includes a C4 or C6 auto trans.
  10. I was thinking about those, too, but wasn't sure if they were created by the same person.
  11. Looks like the box designer used way too many screen shots from the movie, and not enough PS'd images of the actual kit. This one is slightly better IMHO:
  12. Yeah, and the rear spoiler and front valence spoilerettes (can recall their correct name) from the 1/24 AAR kit. I'm sure one of us has one lying around and can test fit those parts on the new 1/25 kit when it drops.
  13. Are you working on the AAR-specific rear spoiler, too, Sam?
  14. This should show you the new and old parts layout is different, so they cannot be from the same mold. The driver figure is totally different, the firewall is in a completely different location, the clear spoked wheels are gone, the new rear wheels have a flange, etc.: The new kit is an homage to the old version, and I would agree the folks at Revell have tried to keep the "feel" of the parts very similar, and some parts do look almost exactly like their original counterparts, but it's an all-new kit.

  16. Looking at Hendrix's page, it appears all their '37 Fords are based on the 1/24 scale Monogram/Revell kit, and the '37 Coupe is pictured with a few of the resin bodies, so a totally stock 1/24 scale version is going to take a lot of work, but I bet the old Monogram '36 Ford kit could provide many of the stock parts:
  17. You'd have two plus year's worth of companies listed here, too: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71864
  18. Let's see them please. Nice work, and I love that Century. Odd how it has a nose which is similar to the '78-9 Dodge Magnum.
  19. This version has an early Hemi, too, with "Chrysler Firepower"(?) valve covers:
  20. Slowly. The underside of the bed is done, but the topside/inner bed still needs some work in a few areas.
  21. I can't say for sure, but it might be a '71 wearing the older Six Pack scoop-ed hood:
  22. Did Sox & Martin run two different cars in '70, or were the bumpers changed from chrome plated to painted at some point?:
  23. I thought you meant $1.10...nope. Is this the one you saw, Roger?: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1946-47-48-DESOTO-/231091848595?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item35ce25c593
  24. There are a few fotki pages containing MPC and AMT catalog pages online which you can view, but with the move to Estonia, most of the images seem to be in limbo. http://public.fotki.com/daviddale/mpc-catalogs/
