  1. I would be willing to bet the '84 GMC will be reissued in the next five years given Round2's penchant for reissuing kits which RC2 already reissued.
  2. This model is as close to perfection as I have ever seen. What a beautiful work of art.
  3. It's entirely possible what she is saying is correct, and www.towerhobbies.com and www.plastic-models.com are in fact two different and/or separate companies, even though the words "Tower Hobbies" appear above the P-M logo on the P-M 'site. They may be run as separate, independent (of each other) entities, for whatever reason. I would just cancel your order, and order from the link Jon gave in his first post. Problem solved.
  4. I just saw it priced at $29.99 at my local HL a few hours ago. Nice 67% discount you got.
  5. The "1:1 Car Reference Pictures" seems to be the default place for show pics: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showforum=14
  6. ^^^^ First ad that pops up via Jon's link. The two websites are different, but I believe both are owned by Hobbico, their parent company.
  7. Nice work on the bed, Mike. A lot more work.
  8. I saw that yesterday, and I noticed the teaser pic of the '50 Olds box art, too.

Nice work, Eric. The kit isn't all that nice IMHO, but you've made the proverbial silk purse out of a sow's ear with this one. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see more of your work now that you're shown us this one.
  10. Does it have to be an official case size, or do you just want to buy 12 or 10 of the exact same kit at once? Local hobby shop or any place should be able to get you what you want.
  11. Tower Hobbies lists the Tommy Grove and Barracuda F/C kits as June 2013 releases:
  12. Looks like the new decals for this kit will look like this:
  13. Did he ever make a mold of the master(s)?
  14. Yes, a few weeks ago I was reading the story of how Crosby, Stills and Kantner wrote the song together on a boat in the Keys. Never got into the JA version, though.
  15. Make sure you sign up over at the C-Body Dry Dock, Nick: http://www.cbodydrydock.com/forum.php You done good on those, two.
  16. Hopefully VH1 will play that a few times this weekend. I can watch that movie over and over, and never tire of it. Sounds naive, but there's just something about that time and weekend that has a purity to it, or maybe genuineness is a better word. My favorite part is when they interview the older gentleman in town and he totally "gets" what the weekend and people attending are all about. http://youtu.be/8jpJOH4sbaw
  17. Now that I read this again (and maybe Dave Van can answer this), what happened to the molds for the A-M kits? Did the second A-M inherit them, and then when they were liquidated....????
  18. Garry, I'd suggest you start a post in the Wanted section for what you're looking for, as you may be surprised by how many people don't use the lo-pro tires and larger diameter wheels in the Revell California Wheels series kits.
  19. Monty, you have me wondering if the sidewall lettering and tread area could be sanded down on the MPC BFG Radial T/A tires for an improved appearance? I don't have any on hand, but the tread always seemed a bit too "off-road"-ish and the sidewall letters a bit too pronounced to my eyes. The tires from the Testors kit have great sidewalls, but as Bill pointed out, the tread looks nothing like a BFG Radial T/A, and everything like the Goodyear Blue Streak Sports Car Special tire's tread.
  20. That color looks great with all those straight bodylines, too.
  21. It's really not that expensive to be honest. For around $100.00 you can have everything you need to make parts, provided they are smaller things like wheels, engine halves, etc. You can buy mold rubber which sets in a few hours, and you can be casting later that day if you're in a hurry. I have seen articles in SAE long ago which used silicone caulk as a mold to copy nameplates/emblems and to repair a broken A-pillar.
  22. They are tampo printed, but in my experience, they would be captured/"seen" when casting using mold rubber such as Alumilite's Quick Set & QS3. I've never cast tires like these, but the rubber picks up almost every detail in the master. You should look into Fireball Modelworks' Goodyear Eagle GT tires, Monty: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=55457&hl=eagle IIRC, Joseph is working on some BFG T/As.
  23. Huh, you're right. That doesn't work anymore. Not sure how to display it, as I always close it when I need to log back in.
  24. Quick 'n' dirty way is to log out, then log back in.
