The Revell 1/16 scale kit is probably the best, as it came out just as Revell was being re-born and putting out nice stuff again. The 1/8 Monogram IROC-Z is basically a scaled up 1/24 scale kit, and though nice, the parts count isn't what you'd expect from a larger kit. Still, it looks great sitting on the shelf once finished, and the kit contains the "CAMARO" upholstery decals for all four seats, a nice set of Goodyear Gatorback VR50 tires, and that very Monogram thing- "smoke" tinted window glass.

Studebaker Community Build...with a Meet & Greet in South Bend, IN?
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Community Builds
When I read the Howmet's Continental turbine engine weighed 150 lbs I was thinking that had to be a typo, but it make sense given how simple the turbine engine concept is. Good idea on the second seat, Jim, but I think with the asymmetrical Avanti hood styling element, a second seat might balance things out too much. I will likely end up keeping the Conti turbine, even if it "looks" small. I've still got a ton of chassis and suspension work to do, so maybe a compact, small engine wouldn't be such a bad thing to have to work around. -

Thanks to Crazy Ed, we now have a driver: He'll be sitting low, with only part of his helmet sticking up above the top of the car. He's a perfect fit, so thank you again, Ed. I started assembling the turbine engine last night, and I think I've hit my first bump in the road. The engine is so compact, it looks like a 1/32 scale engine, and will probably be smaller than the driver figure. I may have to upgrade to a larger turbine engine (Huey 'copter, maybe?) to keep everything looking more proportionate, even though the Howmet turbine engine is 1/25 scale. Perhaps a body shortening is in order... -
Full engine, not related to the Revell 1/24 wrecker at all. See the Truck Kit Reviews section for more info on the 1/24 '77 GMC. I received this driver figure in the mail today, thanks to Crazy Ed.

Revell 2012 Fall New Releases Announced
Casey replied to TurboKitty's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Looks like the ex-Monogram 427 Shelby Cobra and Badman '55 Chevy both made it. http://www.revell.com/new.html -
The trans tunnel is pretty much done, pending a final test fit with the firewall/body. I have Duplicolor Filler Primer, superglue, and accelerator were all very helpful: The hood got the same treatment, but still needs a little redefining of the character line and a bit more sanding:

early 70s Chevy 250 straight 6?
Casey replied to tvandmoviecars's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The Trumpeter '63 Chevy II Nova kit includes a straight six: http://blog.modeljun...from-trumpeter/ The AMT '60 Chevy pickup is about the next closest in 1/25 scale. Chuck Most used the Trumpeter '63 Nova engine in his '70 Nova: -
Width and height, 1/25. Length, 1/32. Ray really nailed it- it does looked like a shortened Charger, similar to the AMX/Javelin situation. What would be really cool is if someone went all out and build the Palmer Charger super clean, fully polished paint, BMF, etc., and dropped it on the contest table.

Nice looking build, Steve.

Those are future Revell kits, and there is release info on them here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58841&st=0

The two are very similar, being siblings in the 1:1 world, but there are some differences. I think Jeff at Motor City Resin Casters Kevin @ Missing Link offers a Maverick Grabber hood, but I don't know if anybody has mastered and cast a flat hood. If you haven't searched the web for Juha Airio's Mercury Comet GT, do so. It's well worth looking at.

Correct. There was an existing topic on the exact same kit, so I merged your post with this existing topic, which then bumps the topic up when a new post is added.

The AMT '68 Camaro Z/28 is the '80s release, the '64 Dodge a Jo-Han kit, and The Palmer Dodge Charger looks like a '70...well kinda sorta resembles one.

Studebaker Community Build...with a Meet & Greet in South Bend, IN?
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Community Builds
That's better: I had to remove another wedge section from both front fenders, as the fender top arch was still too prominent, and the entire body didn't have enough taper. I also filed away some more of the header panel to further lower the leading edge and blend it in with the fender edges. I will need to taper the door tops to match the new fenders, but I don't think I will have to raise the front wheel arches anymore. That cowl you see poking up is probably going to be sunken a few scale inches down into the body, leaving the fender/door/quarter panel top edge as the body's highest point. I think I might "lean" the rear quarter panels' vertical edges forward a bit more to harmonize with the forward leaning nose, too. -

There are multiple ways to upload or post pics- the attachment feature is easiest if the pics are on your hard drive, the "...." code if they are already hosted on the web, and the direct image feature (the little green tree on the bottom row of the reply box tool bar), into which you just paste the url of the pic. Any of those will work.
