  1. The old Adidas box is probably worth what you paid by itself. Is the 1/8 '80 Turbo T/A missing the rear bumper?
  2. The best I can suggest would be to contact Moebius directly as ask them for more information: customerservice@moebiusmodels.com Check your PMs,.please, Phil. If you have an answer for Phil, please provide it. Let's keep this one drama free.
  3. Thank you, Darrin. I'm happy with it so far, and still motivated to work on it, which is good. I would prefer not to do a black interior for a number of reasons, so that will probably be a last resort interior color choice. Black carpeting, maybe. I'm leaning toward a gold/beige exterior, with a gold/beige/light green interior. I'm still working on the trans tunnel, and need to apply another primer coat tomorrow: I have to remove the extra muffler locating pin and research how the A-body /6 exhaust was run, so I can start planning that out. I did another rear bumper test fit after I sanded down the filler pieces a bit, so that back end is done, and the bumper will be sent to Chrome Tech USA for re-plating: I worked on both side of the now-flat hood, too, but nothing exciting, really. Just sand, prime, and repeat.
  4. Silver.
  5. No, attending the meet & greet is totally optional.
  6. Great info, Tim, thanks. I will LYK on the filler tube in the retro reissue when it arrives.
  7. He didn't have the Mystic Magenta promo you really wanted?
  8. Does the Reggie Jackson/Matchbox era kit include the five-slot Halibrand wheels? I'm not quite sure which parts were omitted after the original issue, but according to Round2's page, this reissue features: All Original Parts Restored Build Stock, Custom or Slat Flats Racer Retooled Optional Halibrand Factory Mag Wheels Four Different Wheel Options Steerable Front Wheels Opening Doors Expanded Original Decal Sheet Vintage Box Art Packaging
  9. I like asymmetrical styling, so I had to wonder. I now see how the instrument cluster hood was part of that styling element, too: I think this ^^^ is the Aurora version?
  10. That's what's nice about the cones Dave used- they have no seam that I could see, and they are nicely polished, too. To seam or not to seam, that is the question for Rob.
  11. Looks good, Andy, but that engine could use a good cleaning.
  12. Predicta stick steering stalk and top from same. Done.
  13. Thanks for following up, Adam. I love these '70s trikes.
  14. He's got three means of contact on his profile page, but not sure if you have tried those already or not? Just in case not... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showuser=1224 He's been here not too long ago: Last Active Jul 20 2012 11:39 AM
  15. Gah, sorry, Dave. I picked the wrong Dave. I think the packaging has changed slightly, but they looked very nice, and in scale, too.
  16. That's neat and probably handy, too, if you have an iPhone.
  17. Discussed here a few months ago: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54055&st=20&p=626850&hl=+land%20+train&#entry626850
  18. Dan Van posted pics of a VW Bug he built using a polished megaphone style stinger exhaust tip he found at Michael's, and I just saw them there Saturday. I will try to find a pic...
  19. The only 2WD 1/25 Chevy pickup of that era is the '78(?) MPC pickup: The 1/24 Revell (ex Monogram) Chevy Van's front suspension is very simplified- basically three pieces. The AMT 1/25 Chevy van isn't much better in my opinion. There are good pics of both kits' parts in the Kit Reviews section here on the forum. Maybe a later model ('88+) Chevy/GMC kit from AMT or MPC could provide some better donor parts? You're correct about the Revell 1/25 Chevy stepside's front suspension. It's custom, and pretty crude.
  20. Very cool build idea. I was wondering what the huge gears were for, then I clicked on the next picture and saw they were not gears, but rather interlocking(?) rear tires. Looks like you made a lot of progress on the dump bed so far.
  21. Mike's being honest, and I would agree with his comments. The 32 individual chrome plated exhaust pipes on the Showboat alone will make you question your sanity. I built the '80s combo kit under the Hot Rod label, and would never build either one again. The parts fit wasn't great, the chrome plating was even worse, and neither one was enjoyable to build for me. But have fun if you decide to get them!
  22. Nice slapper bars, Kyle, but they need longer snubbers. I like that you used hollow tubing, like the real ones. The rear slicks in the '69 Nova kit are notoriously narrow, as you mentioned. Welcome to the forum, too!
  23. AMCs always look good in red, white and blue.
  24. I think the Hurricane style Alan posted the pic of is as close as you'll come in 1/25 scale. If true to the 1:1 wheels, the scale spokes would be incredibly thin.
