  1. I forgot I did this quick build for a Moparts forum member, who used to own a jacked-up A-100...and likes beer.
  2. It may not be an error at all, but a calculated decision on Revell's part. They may have figured most people would buy the kit anyway, and either do what Ryan plans to do or live without the SS emblems. Either way, they buy the kit. Of course, some people may chose not to buy the kit at all, knowing it lacks the SS emblem entirely, but again, maybe Revell knows something we don't.
  3. It is a reissue of AMT's "Pro Shop" '57. No idea if the wiring and p/e parts were included with the Pro Shop release or not, though.
  4. He better cut a check to a chassis shop and get the thing tied together with a roll cage. Wouldn't hurt to put on his seatbelt either. What kind of track lets you run that quickly without a shoulder belt? I'm guessing this was some kind of show and not a sanctioned event, but even so...when you run that quickly a helmet and seatbelt use should be mandatory. What's under the hood? I'm guessing a big turbo.
  5. It all depends upon how (if) your wisdom teeth are impacted. If they have to do a lot of digging to get them out, you'll be hurting. I had two removed which were no impacted, so it was easy and virtually pain free. It's probably best NOT to get online and post when you're under the influence of anything prescribed.
  6. These are some of my Dad's builds from the '60s when the Double T and Deuce ktis were new. Sadly he threw out[/] the chopped T coupe with the Lincoln engine and Latham blower a few years ago when he moved...still mad at him for that! He's not big into dusting, either. Looks like he used the wheels from the AMT '66 Mustang kit (which he also built and still has) on the Deuce? And the T:
  7. You really are digging into the "unfinished business" project box lately. Good to see this oddball back on the 'bench.
  8. I had to Google that one, too: green broke adj Definition of GREEN BROKE of a horse : incompletely broken or trained I thought I read that AMT was cleaning up the tooling, as I recall reading lots of complaints about how this one was showing a lot of flash, etc. in the last resissue. but maybe not. A set of wheelie bars, zoomie/weedburner headers and the M&H slicks appear to be the bulk of the optional drag parts, but the lack of a blower is puzzling. I have to say the Polyglas GT tires look great, so those should please many replica stock musclecar builders. Thank for posting the review, Gerald.
  9. Wrap it in bubble wrap or inside a Ziploc bag with packing peanuts all around it.
  10. It's such a bizarre car, styling wise, as there is so much going on at every corner, and along every edge. You'd never think it all works together, but somehow, it does. Keep up the nice work. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the nicest builds of 2012 here on the forum.
  11. Oh, I noticed it. A wise decision on your part. It'd better if the hood dipped down in between the fenders, like the trunk seems to dip down in between the quarter panels.
  12. Sounds like you just volunteered, Austin. I think it's a good idea.
  13. I always get Ian from MI confused with Danny for some reason. Don't bother looking to hard for Ian's stuff.
  14. I was wondering how the two sets of Polyglas GT tires look...other than being black, with white letters...and round.
  15. Today I cut apart the two '68 Dart interior bases so I could use everything from the rear seat back on the stock piece, while using the opposite (front) half of the Hemi Dart interior piece. The stock interior piece has the console already in place, which is the same problem I had with the '69 GTS piece, while the Hemi piece has no console, and only a small, very subtle flat spot for the floor shifter- much easier the work with than removing the entire console and filling the opening, retexturing the floor in that area, and so on: I've decided to use the '68's seats and door panels, which are slightly less fancy than the '69 GTS pieces. I'm not going to be too concerned with what was correct for a '69 Dart (GT, maybe) on this build, so the '68 interior will work fine and require much less work on my part, increasing the odds of this build reaching completion by a good percentage. I also decided to use the Hemi Dart hood, and fill in the scoop opening, an drill out and plug the hood pin depressions: I probably will create some type of underhood structure since as the underside is smooth now and lacks any detail. I'd like to have the hinges hold the hood open when it's completed, so the underside of the hood will be highly visible and should at least look passable. Hopefully I can get the floor sections welded together tonight, then get the piece glued to the chassis and start patching and sanding on the trans tunnel.
  16. I wouldn't mind seeing what's inside, since Round2 supposedly cleaned the tooling up and semi-backdated it? Love the retro box art, too.
  17. It's not, and Danny makes some very nice stuff, so let's give him some credit for his own work. I think it looks a lot like a Foresight Ventures Indy 500 wheel: http://www.akhwheels...Wheel.php?pk=87 I want to say Parnelli Jones and/or Mickey Thompson marketed this very similar wheel, but not totally sure:
  18. Skip the skirts, I say. Cadzilla proved you don't need 'em, and the model's never gonna get a flat anyway. What made you decide to remove the character lines from the front of the hood?
  19. Any update on Project Snowball, Billy?
  20. I guess it depends upon how blurry the printed coupon is and who's ringing up the sale. I needed a Revell '68 Dart GTS interior floor, so I was a happy guy walking out of Michael's today.
  21. Just when I think he needs another gear, he runs out of room.
  22. I've become a lot less picky when it comes to 1/24 vs. 1/25 engines in the last year or so, for the reason you mentioned- most times the parts will work with each other without modification. Maybe I should've suggested Nash Airflyte instead. Next time...
  23. If I only had a dollar for every non-Buick I've seen with stick-on fender portholes...$$$$$$$ :)
