Wow. This may be the best model I've ever seen built. Simply stunning in all areas. The headlights alone are filled with more detail than your average scale model. Care to share any details about the wheels?
-
No, I still think the proportions are horrible on Pacers, and the design really isn't any more striking after 36 years, so I still say "no". Sadly, AMC also stuck with the blistered headlight idea on the Matador coupe, too. Double ugly!

Another Pacer, this time with woodgrain and '03-'04 Mustang Mach1 wheels?: Is your Pacer officially in the AMC community build, Jeff?

Wow, Normatt made snowmobiles, too: And more of the Winnie:

Here's the link to the Winnebego Class A motorhome eBay auction Shelly mentioned: http://www.ebay.com/...=item35b6db3af4 I wonder if Normatt made any other scale models?

Whatever happened with this build, Ed? I hope it's moving forward and/or was completed. Also, were you able to identify who cast the body? Maybe someone else reading this knows?

Looking for aftermarket wheels and tires.
Casey replied to 58 Impala's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Actually, you probably will be able to tell the difference IMO. Unless you modify them or use 18" wheels in 1/18 scale to equal 16" wheels in 1/16 scale, they will look too small. Which particular Porsche wheel are you looking for? And what size/diameter/profile tires? -
No, the two kits are not related. The Elegant Beetle was a Monogram kit, and the VW Kafer was a Revell AG tool. The VW Kafer is related to the 1/16 Karmann Ghia, though.

Yes, it's a re-issue, and as mentioned, very nice. Lots of detail throughout, but it builds a 100% stock split window Beetle. I bought one in the '90s to use for a Durachrome Bug F/C project, so I have very few parts left on hand, but the beltline chrome trim is indeed separate, as are the door handles, center hood trim piece, and I recall semaphore turn signals in the B-pillars. I think I paid $60 for it over a decade ago, so prices really haven't gone up that much on these kits. Buy it. You won't regret it.

Which wheel are you trying to copy? Post a pic if possible, please. That will help determine how you should be casting copies.

Nice color, and I love the use of the Motor Wheel Spyders in the back.

Slow poke. It's no different than posting pictures on any other forum, plus here you also have the option of uploading pictures as attachments, so you can upload them directly from your hard drive.

Use some 600 then 800 grit wet sandpaper and remove any chrome plating, then detail paint as you normally would.

Thanks, Rodney.

I agree. You've made some subtle changes, but all are improvements to my eyes. I really like the deep Torq Thrust wheel and wrinklewall M&H slicks.
-
Rodney, coul you please measure the I.D. or opening size of the tire? And a wheel diameter, too, if possible.

A 2012 Boss 302 is one I'd like to see, too, as the 1/24 and 1/6 Jada R/C cars are pretty typical (read: lacking details) of R/C cars:

1/25 AMT '76 Gremlin X 2n1 coming from Round 2
Casey replied to SteveG's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes, it appears to be much like the Double Dragster and Munster's Collector Tins in size and shape. -
Thanks. If you could get an actual wheel diameter measurement when you have a chance, it would be much appreciated.

Has anyone here purchased this kit?: I'm curious what size the rear wheels (they appear to say "U.S. Mag" on the centercap) and tires are, as they appear to be very similar to the tires used on the old MPC 1/20 McLaren Mk?? kit.

1/43 MPC Dodge A-100 Van & Pickup
Casey replied to Casey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I dusted the cobwebs off this project last night and got the LR wheel arch close to its final shape, filled the hole at the rear cargo door gap, and did some sanding on the inside of the body. I have to ream out the headlight bucket openings and finish test fitting the clear headlights, then do the same for the tail lights. I will be making a simple chassis and will probably make an interior bucket, dash, steering wheel and column, and bucket seats, too, as I don't really care for the full slammer look. It would be nice to have some interior detail IMO. I'm also debating adding some material to the windshield header on both sides of the divider, as I never liked that the windshield height doesn't match the side window height. I'm still undecided about whether or not to leave the recessed area on the rear doors or fill it in. Technically speaking the recess is not correct for a van, so it should be filled in. Here's a close up of the height difference between the windshield and side door window openings: -
How 'bout some (blurry) reference pics?
