  1. They can't use any Warner Brothers characters since Round2 has the license for those, so a correct set of decals is not an option....see the silhouette of the Road Runner at the front of the side stripe dust trail on the (also nicely updated) '70 Road Runner kit.
  2. Do you mean putting the Superbird body on the '70 GTX/Road Runner chassis? Or vice-versa? The Road Runner interior is a nice upgrade for the Superbird and GTX kits, though it may not be factory correct.
  3. Ads are not really a big deterrent to visiting here, so bring 'em on...and Thank You for getting the chat back up, Gregg.
  4. If by "long term" you mean the putty will remain stable and not strink over time, use a two-part body filler such as Evercoat's EuroSoft (or similar. It's been a while since I bought it, so the name may have changed). Single part glazing putties dry via evaporation of the solvent, and though they dry quickly, they solvents are usually "hot" and the possibility of shrinkage is something I'd rather avoid...hence the two-part filler (which hardens via a catalytic reaction, not evaporation) sugggestion.
  5. You and the mouse in your pocket? I don't think USPS is slow at all. Even a huge package going cross-country via Parcel Post takes only five business days. I sure can't deliver a 4 oz package myself from WI to CA for $2.00, so I'll gladly have USPS do it in four days.
  6. eBay is a pretty accurate glimpse at what a kit will sell for in the open market, and you can always search the "Completed Items" to get an even better idea. As far as the Revell '70 Road Runner kit is concerned, I think it's in demand mainly because of the 15", six-slot, "Cop Car" wheels present in the kit, but the bench seat and multi-piece interior "tub" are nice changes from the '70 GTX pieces, as is the RR grille.
  7. Just like Revell's 1/12 and 1/25 scale '69 Camaro Z/28 kits from twenty years ago.
  8. I have no intersest in buying nor building this kit, but boy does it scream "experienced, adult modeler" to me. As Tim pointed out, it's very period-specific, which is a bit of a surprise for a mass marketed kit, but I think it's a good gamble for Revell, and certainly is a huge win for vintage rod and custom modellers.
  9. Wasn't it Peter Lombardo who made these bodies? Maybe a PM to him would provide an answer.
  10. You have to set the "click and it automatically copies the link for you" feature in Photobucket, as it's not automatic. See you PB profile to change it. Otherwise, click it and hold down the CONTROL key and hit the "C" key to copy it, then CONTROL V to paste it in the body of a message here. You want the link labelled "IMG code" in your PB album.
  11. I had no idea AMT made this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Model-Toys-AMT-Studebaker-Car-1950s-W-Box-/270812352757?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item3f0dac90f5#ht_500wt_1294
  12. Post your list of members with whom you've had a positive trading experience, as well as those who you would not recommend trading with.
  13. Technically, this is an R/C car with not much more than a body, chassis plate, and some wheels and tires, but it's 1/16 scale, seems to be accurately proportioned, and it's a modern American ponycar. Anyhoo, it's made by Enertec and retails for $24.95, but as I said above, it's pretty much a slammer, with no interior, solid black "glass", no opening anything, and a typical R/C chassis plate. I stripped the innards and had removed the wheels and tires, so the wheels may be not quite fully seated/positioned in the pics. Here are the pics...
  14. Caveat emptor. Straight from Matt's keyboard, via his forum: 8/11/11 Status has not changed at this time. I am not going to get into my family personal business. But with family that has had to stay in town for us to work things out and dealing with my 85 year old father and helping him through these changes. Also dealing with his and my mother's estate. I have not had much time for resin. I have list a few items on e-bay to make a little extra chash to keep things rolling with casting. But I really cannot tell anyone anything.
  15. Wow, fantastic parts. Thoise suspension linkage pieces look very well detailed.
  16. Happy Birthday, Chuck!
  17. The '58 was just re-issued, so I ouldn't say more than $10--$!5 for the issue you have. The Barris VW, maybe a little more, but not much. Do a search on eBay and check the "Completed Items" box in the left hand column to get an idea what others have recently sold for.
  18. Huh. Interesting that Revell chose to design the headrests in that position.
  19. Is it just me or do the front seat headrests look to be tilted too far forward? I'm assuming each bucket seat is molded as two pieces, and that the backrest is fixed...
  20. I've always liked Probes, too, but only the GTs, as the base models were not very nice looking IMHO. Nothing says early '90s like a set of tri-spoke wheels. Make the spokes curvy and you've got mid-'90s.
  21. MPC/AMT '70 Coronet Super Bee chassis/engine compartment inside the JoHan '70 Superbird body:
  22. They are missing some details which would be difficult to accurately produce in 1/24 scale, such as the ribbing between the spokes, near the center cap. Having owned both and '83 and '85 Celica GT-S, I spent many an hour scrubbing the aluminum wheels clean and losing some skin off my knuckles doing so. The Tamiya Supra kit has a nicely detailed body, but the MPC kit isn't that far behind, provided you leave the IMSA flares off. Here's a pic of my '85 GT-S:
  23. Your photography alone makes this thread a must read. Thanks for your review so far. All I see is what I liked about the Monogram 1/12 '69 Camaro Z/28 kit- accurate parts, which, when assembled together as a completed model, look much like the 1:1 car. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these kits and finish the custom wheels I have planned.
  24. I thought I recognized your car from seeing it over at moparts.com a few times. Looks like it was a great day for a show and cruise there.
  25. 1/8 scale would be ideal, as the ex-Monogram "Big" '32s are due for some updating beyond the decal sheets. I don't care all that much for the Rat Roadster, but for those who buil din 1/8 scale, it'd be nice to have a BBC and blower setup, as well as the Moon fuel tank, an accurate set of Halibrand Sprint wheels, and maybe even some wider slicks. Do it, Revell!
