  1. Jersey? Which exit? No, I'm planning to make the Milwaukee NNL show tomorrow, but I will definitely make the swap meet on Sunday.
  2. The AMX/2 is even sexier:
  3. Blazer? Suburban?? Fleetside bed??? Do tell, Santiago.
  4. You also have to consider the size, as some of these displays are made from one piece of printed stock. Cuts and embossing for folded edges also add to the cost, not to mention the upfront cost of having the minimum number printed. Also consider the copyright or trademark (not sure which may apply) laws in effect for printed materials, as a professional print shop may not be able to re-produce these legally. That said, I think $30-$40 is a fair price for such a piece, and from the older auctions, the seller didn't seem to have any trouble selling them.
  5. No mass produced bi-scale kit has what you're looking for, but the Aurora 1/16 scale 417 Donovan and 392 Hemi engines come close, at least as far as the lower end is concerned.
  6. The Revell '64 T-bolt Radir and Keystone Kustomag Klassic wheels are unique in that they feel/look like 1/24 scale wheels. If you want to use these wheels with a vintage style racing slick, I suggest you find a set of slicks from the Monogram Boot Hill Express, Lil Coffin'. Lil T Bucket, or similar kits. These slicks have a separate sidewall insert and the '64 T-bolt wheels slip right inside the inserts with a very small reduction of the wheel's O.D. The matching wheels are a bit funky as they support the insert once it's inside the tire, but it can be modified to work. The M&H slicks indside the '64 T-bolt kit aren't too shabby, either, from what I recall.
  7. http://www.mooresmopars.com/modregistry.html I thought somebody produced a Mod Top decal, but I'm not totally sure.
  8. I believe it is Don Loomis out of Fargo, ND who re-casts the snowplow setup from the MPC Jeepster kit.
  9. I got a circa '64 Revell '55 Chevy in trade from member a/gass (aka Mike) last weekend: Today I picked up a few things... Revell Chevy Citation: Palmer '72 'Cuda box top and a few parts: Some big scale American Torq Thrust and three other sets of wheels:
  10. I gave my thoughts as Gregg asked, so he can do what he wants with it. I never complained about eBay fees, so leave me out of that, please. I'm perfectly happy selling on eBay and giving up some $ to both eBay and PayPal...and yes, I have tried emodelcars.com. If all 7,412 MCM forum members listed something on emodelcars.com we'd have a much better selection, but they haven't, so maybe the question should be, Why haven't more people listed items on emodelcars.com?
  11. How many people who know about eBay also know about emodelcars.com? eBay has a worldwide audience, while emodelcars.com is known mostly by members of this forum, so the volume just isn't there. There are currently 104 total auctions on emodelcars.com. eBay has built itself up over the course of a decade plus, and I'm sure other people recall Yahoo! Auctions and other auction sites which tried to take a slice of ebay's pie and ultimately were too late to the party and couldn't catch up nor compete. eBay isn't perfect, but if I'm buying, I want a large selection and multiple buying options (condition, price, location, etc.) and at emodelcars.com, there are just too few items to chose from. If I'm selling, I want a large, worldwide audience of millions of people who can easily find what I'm selling, and eBay has that.
  12. Let it die, Gregg. There are so few items listed there, it's not worth visiting for most people IMHO. The lack of fees is nice, and it's well set up, but it's essentially trying to compete with eBay, and that's a losing battle. I love that you're trying to help people with emodelcars.com, but from a business point of view, it doesn't seem worth the investment.
  13. I love seeing a lower-level SS, rather than a top-of-the line car, and your's is very well done. Any idea where the pinstripes came from? They look perfect.
  14. It sounds like your local store isn't re-ordering stock, George. Our local HLs have no problem re-stocking models...even the 1/8 scale Big Tub. My local store gets new stock delivered on Tuesdays, so it usually take two weeks at most to re-stock an empty shelf space.
  15. Sorry, no. Just what is shown above, in three different sizes.
  16. Yes, the Lil Mixer is very similar, sharing many parts with the Lil Yellow kit. There's a reviews in the New Kit Reviews section, so you may want to check that out first.
  17. I have some more modern drilled and slotted resin disc brakes, but the calipers and rotors are molded together. The rotor diameter is approximately .745" (which works out to 12" in 1/16 scale) and the rotor thickness is approximately .060", which can be made thinner if necessary.
  18. I got this book shortly after it was first published, and if you're expecting lots of pictures, you're going to be very disappointed. This is more of a good reading book rather than a picture book. It is very good reading if you're interested in learning about the early years of drag racing, though.
  19. Thanks for posting the pic, Adam. Looks pretty nice from what I can see. Much better than the 'molded' look the inside of the AMT '84 GMC bed has.
  20. Casey

    Plymouth Fury

I love seeing huge wheels on huge C-bodies.
  21. Dart was $24.99, as are all Revell Special Edition kits at Michael's. $19.99 for the '67 Chevelle, and the others I didn't note the price. I did see the ZR-1 kit, but didn't remember 'til now.
  22. Ron runs RMR Resin. I don't see the bed listed on this page, but at least it's available, and I do see the crew you mentioned listed: http://www.freewebs.com/rmrresin/nf125.htm
  23. I stopped at a Michael's store today and saw a few new kits on the shelves: Revell '02 Camaro SS Revell Viper SRT-10 ACR AMT Camaro SS Concept Revell '68 Dart GTS Special Edition Revell '67 Chevelle SS 396 Mercedes die-cast...no clue on which model it was I also got a 40% off coupon for next week along with my receipt. The Revell Bullitt '67 Mustang, '57 Chevy Black Widow and '06(?) Dodge Charger Super Bee, and '69 Yenko Nova were all on clearance for $14.99, too.
  24. Try 1000x1000 pixels max size.
  25. I hate to nit pick, as the A-833 4-speed looks great so far, but the tailhousing on the A-727 looks too long in the pic above. The A-833 has the correct tailhousing with the dual shifter bosses, so the A-727 trans assembly should be the same overall length as the A-833 trans, tailshaft, and bellhousing, ~34.5" IIRC.
