  1. Are you thinking of the New Monkees convertable kit from Monogram? At any rate, this page has pics of nearly all the bi-scale Fox Mustang kits from '79-'93: http://www.mustanggt.org/fun/plastic.htm
  2. Most recent issue, which still isn't too hard to find:
  3. I replaced the front crossmember and suspension (both front and rear) with the parts from Revell's '69 Z/28 Camaro when I built this '53 in 1994: Much improved stance:
  4. I would love a new 1/25 scale '67 Cougar kit, but for now, this is all we have
  5. I'll take huge, high-resolution pictures over poor quality camera and cell phone pics any day. Sometimes large, hi-res pics are necessary to show detail, and I'd rather see pics which are too large with great detail than those which are too small and you can't see any clear details. You can select whichever size you want your uploaded pics to be re-sized to using Photobucket, and you an always make them smaller whenever you wish. There's nothing worse than seeing a pic of a model you want to look at further, then realizing the 600x400 pixel image is already at max size, and you can't make out any detail.
  6. Well said, Dirk.
  7. No love for the Otaki 1/12 scale '71 Ford Mustang Mach 1?
  8. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I'm not so sure a $10 Maisto knock off at Walgreens is flattering. At any rate, I stumbled upon this at Walgreens, and it definitely takes some styling cues from the three latest ponycars, but it's obviously not even close to what Bob designed and executed.
  9. Hope you don't mind me adding the pics, Kevin. You've got a great product lineup.
  10. I picked up a Monogram '69 Street Camaro kit Sunday, as well as a complete but loose Monogram "Early Iron"-series '29 Ford Pickup (no pic of that one):
  11. Is that a AA or AAA battery for size reference? The part is plastic, correct? Has it been painted?
  12. Exercise and eating less/better are the best things you can do, but seem to be the hardest for some. Kudos to you for sticking to it and reaching your first goal. Walking gets easier in WI when it's not 15* outside, too, so spring is just around the corner, which makes getting outside much more enjoyable.
  13. I seriously doubt anyone from AMT is making product decisions soley based on complaints read on modelling forums. It's kind of silly to complain about part in a kit which was designed 25+ years ago, but there will always be whiners and people who like to complain, and the internet gives them a 'visible' voice. Sales are the ultimate determining factor, not some comments on a message board nor forum. Besides, people can always e-mail John G directly at Round2 at any time.
  14. Thanks for the tip, Nick...here are the pics, and they are not pretty. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37529&st=520
  15. All of the current TTTs on eBay show white-molded parts, and the Drastic Plastic page shows this instruction sheet...: ...but this completed listing on eBay seems to show the parts molded in an army green color: BTW, no Lindberg versions of this kit included the phone booth parts, correct?
  16. AMT's '61 Ford Ranchero kit was re-issued a few years ago:
  17. ...and if they didn't look like giant ScotchBrite pads. The problem with felt and flocking powder IMHO is it's too coarse in texture to look realistic in bi-scale. Maybe in 1/8 scale it would be more convincing, but automotive carpet fibers are less than 1/4" tall (unless you're using a shag style carpet), so in 1/25 sale, that equates to .01". Unless you have a material that is 1/100 of an inch thick or close to it, it's going to look too thick. This is why I think painted 'carpet' floors in models look better. They already have the correct scale texture/thickness, and look more believable in scale when correctly painted. As for floormats, I've seen a how-to based on rubber floormats cast from enamel paint using a shallow mold, but can't recall who wrote it or where I saw it.
  18. I think you could've said the two in the foreground are 1/6 and 1/16 and the background wheels are 1:1 and we wouldn't have known any better. Absolutely beautiful work.
  19. Bill, which Revell Snap-together '69 Camaro kit do you have? The recent 1/25 scale kit with the red or yellow box art car? I have yet to buy/build one of those, but I do recall the tires and wheels in the Dodge Magnum kit are an incredibly tight fit, too, and both kits feel more like unassembled promotional models than traditional kits, so I think the extremely snug wheel-to-tire fit is related. Also, are all four wheels in the Cutlass kit the same diameter? I may have a spare set of tires I can send you, too.
  20. I belive the seller's eBay ID is "3names". I have sent him/her a message asking if s/he plans to make any more available.
  21. I haven't attened in over a decade, but since it's an NNL show, it's a non-judged, non-competitive, display what you've built type show.
