Like this, one year. 1972 brought STP as a sponsor, so after the first race at Riverside, the car was blue and red. He also started using Dodge Chargers along with the Plymouth that year, but went strictly with the Charger the following year
I'd guess around 400 or so. Half Nascar or street car kits that can be made into one.
Pierre, the '62 Bel-Air is one of my favorite kits of all time. Only main gripe is the wheel backs lack of any detail. If you do something with it, please do a thread on it. Always enjoyed your builds.
I'm glad you have a picture, I'm sure there were a few who thought I was crazy when I mentioned that. Really looking forward to future installments on this post.
WOW !
I remember at least one of Petty's 71 Roadrunners having a black and white small checkered pattern fabric for the seat upholstery. Some deal he had with a textile manufacturer. That might be a neat detail to incorporate.
You might consider Westley's Bleach White tire cleaner. Resin producers recommend soaking parts in it to remove release agent because it won't damage the cast parts like Purple Power. I have used it several times to strip paint.
Whoever you were thinking of buying them from should be able to tell you. I can't remember who it was, but at least one vendor had a cross reference chart. Maybe someone will see this and know who it was.
You are right, never really noticed that. I guess I was so used to seeing the old MPC Petty kits that were very stock and not "fudged" as they would say.
Interesting, what are you planning to use for screen on the grill. I always thought that was an area for improvement, but didn't know what to do. That was always the baddest looking Regal in Nascar
