  1. I normally don't mix paints to achieve a certain color, I'm colorblind. So I look for these already made up. MCW now has small jars of unthinned enamels in lots of useful shades such as correct engine colors, tinted carburetor and others.
  2. Whatever is "toxic" in the red tube makes it work better. I tried the blue out of necessity before and didn't like it, but it's been long enough ago I don't remember why. I am sure someone will be able to technically explain the difference.
  3. I looked at the sites I deal with looking for the Cady sheet and came up empty. If all else fails, try STS decals, he can custom make some for you. He is busy, so he patient.
  4. Most of the time the caster/printer vacuum forms the glass over a buck they make. There are a few who use a real slow, like 24 hour, cure clear resin and cast them with a mold.
  5. Is it red styrene or painted, might help someone in indentifying it
  6. I haven't used Gravity Colors before and it may be your go to paint, but MCW is US based and is also doing enamels for those who prefer that.
  7. I think my deal was a much lighter pearl over a dark red. You are using two similar colors.
  8. Don't know about lighter colors, but shot what I thought was a light coat of copper pearl flames over candy apple red and they looked like burnt orange.
  9. When I read the question, I was thinking you were asking about attaching the clear windshield to the frame, not the frame to the body.
  10. I would tape it in place in a couple places, then use Testor's window/canopy glue. After it dries, remove the tape and glue the remaining areas. I wouldn't worry about scraping paint since this is a different type of glue. Excess can be wiped away with a damp Q-tip while still wet.
  11. They look simple enough, if no one is producing them, I'm sure STS could do them
  12. You are cranking out some quality builds.
  13. Hey Mark, should have remembered this earlier, but the windshield opening is not correct on this kit. The top needs to be opened up some, check it against pictures of the real car. Not a hard fix and the glass still works. I forgot how much I removed, but I used my steel calipers locked down and drug it across the top to mark it.
  14. That's it Mark
  15. I was going to say the same thing, but hesitated not wanting to mess up Mark's paint job. Duplicolor makes a white fine primer.
  16. I like that. Neat how you came up with the color. I am not too knowledgeable about this kit, but why did you use an aftermarket body on your build?
  17. Lots of times when I check in on in progress builds regularly I lose interest in them, but not this one.
  18. Great looking build. I have that kit but didn't do anything with it because of hearing everything poor mouthing it. You gave me some future inspiration.
  19. Another benefit from working on a glass surface is if you spill paint or super glue or whatever, clean up is certainly easier. I've been using an old window pane (thick glass) for over 30 years.
  20. I'm sure Duplicolor has it in their line since Dodge has been using it again in recent years. Auto parts stores would have it.
  21. No matter what brand, aerosol or air brush, I use lacquer based paints on the bodies. To me, it just makes things easier.
  22. If Ronnie was alive he would certainly be amazed and humbled at the work you and others have been doing lately on this forum.
  23. Good product. After it dries, you need to trim close to the decal as this creates a clear film.
  24. You can delete this response if you want. I really like it like it is and appreciate everyone's effort who is involved. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  25. You might try this. There is a hobby shop in Sanford, NC called Wings, Wheels and Waves. He does mail-order as MCW, selling paint and resin. He has scale pin stripe in his store. He might sell it thru mail order if you call or email him.
