It would be really nice to have those boomerang tail lights back -
Wally Booth's Detroit Dodge Dealers 69 Hemi Super Bee Super Stock
M W Elky replied to Scott Eriksen's topic in Drag Racing
It came out really nice the right color just the right stance with an accurate mix of parts, and the decals look great . I can’t wait to see your next project. -
It looks fantastic that’s one toy I haven’t built
-
The AMT 49 Ford Gas’s Man kit has a nice set of narrow cheater slicks
-
I don’t know if you decided on a chassis and drivetrain yet . I used the chassis and drivetrain from the Revell 67 Sox & Martin GTX kit when I built this almost 35 years ago and it fit exceptionally well . I also would say the 6 pack hood is the way to go I wish I had had that option. The paint work and decals came out great
-
This one’s all Moebius I used Testors white enamel , and decals from 2 Moebius sheets that I was able to purchase separately. The ones that came in the super stock kit. These are really nice decals plus they have the right shade of metallic blue . I’m really having a blast building these 65 AWB MOPARS . Until next time thanks for looking, Mike
-
The moebius kit with Tamyia bright red paint and Slixx decals . A nice straight forward build. Until next time thanks for looking, Mike
-
Nice work the black paint job looks killer and the wheels and stance are right on . I once used to really dread black jobs to however since I’ve switched to the Tamyia lacquer as long as I have low humidity I’ve had really great results.

“ BUILDING THE COVERS “ Vol # 118 THE RAMCHARGERS 1965 AWB DODGE
M W Elky replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
Yea John the decals went on really smooth with no problems at all . The 65’s will be all I’ll be building for awhile I’m really looking forward to getting them all done . As it sits right now I’ll need a few more dodge kits and a couple resin sedan bodies. I have to agree the photo opp’s will be great . -
This is an out of the box build of the Moebius kit . It’s sprayed with Tamyia gloss white and topped with decals from Chuck Boehner . This is the version of the Ramchargers 65 car that my dad would have liked to been able to build when he built his AMT kit in 1966 . A big thanks to Moebius and chuck for making this build a possibility all these years later until next time thanks for looking, Mike
-
When my dad built this kit he had to be about 17 or 18 years old and already owned his 64 super stock dodge . He said it was such a cool kit that was basically the same body style of his street car . Because the Ramchargers car was white he saw no reason to waste paint on the body . So he painted the engine and the interior then on went the decals . On the shelf it went . I inherited this car when he gave me his collection in 1984 . Then it moved to my shelf where it has lived ever since . To get it ready for photos I cleaned the years of dust and cigarette smoke discoloring with my favorite cleaner Meguiar’s spray quick wax . I left the original 59 years of dust on the interior , and the decals show their original patina. I can still faintly smell the cigarette smell on it. It now provides endless happy memories of the builder my dad . This kit has good relevance right know with all of the AWB 65 Mopar kits I’ve been building lately. In my opinion the original box art is some of the best ever . until next time , thanks for looking , Mike

The tennis balls just make it whatever color paint you used they look like the real thing
-
I kinda figured that landy had a lot of pull at Chrysler as in later years he did quite a bit of r & d work for them and also was part of the clinic program. Also they might have just used Lindermood to make an example of . Plus he was a Chrysler employee at the time and being from the Detroit are he was real excessable . I used a little micro sol to settle the blue decals around the tail light panel
-
I almost forgot the story I got was that Chrysler took it away from Roger for doing to many bumper dragging wheel stands after they were warned not to .
-
John the freemont body fits like a glove as the master joe used for the mold was made from the moebius kit as a word of caution his Awb dodge body is made from the amt kit and requires quite a bit of slicing and dicing to get it to work with the moebius donor kit . In these photos you can see where I cut the chassis plate right behind the fire wall on the blue dodge I also had to cut a piece out of the front sub frame and grind down the edge of the dashboard . I have a couple more of the dodge sedans to build I didn’t find the modifications to crazy and well worth the effort
-
Yea John all the blue are decals they went on real nice and didn’t tear but the shade of blue doesn’t match the testors dark blue enamel that I have used on my other color me gone cars . It looks better in photos than in person however with the red pin stripes it’s probably the only way . I’m right with you on house projects I have a lot of outdoor construction projects to finish before winter
-
This is out of the box with chuck boener decals which I think the shade blue isn’t dark enough at least for my liking. I would really like to have a set of decals without the blue . Overall it looks good on the shelf .

Wow what a masterful job . For some reason unknown to me I have developed a desire to build some mid 60’s top cut off drag cars to add to my ever growing collection I have about 6 in the gathering parts stage or 1/2 started stage . This build has got me a little more inspired it was great fun to follow along.
-
Such a nice basic build .This is molding building at its best not over detailed and you didn’t spend a month matching a brake drum . It was neat to follow your progress it really held my interest . This looks just like something my dad would have built circa 1962 as he would always mix part from several kits . Your engine details are amazing it all looks just right for the era . You got me inspired to start a 40 ford coupe early gasser
-
This has became one of my favorite builds I think it just looks spot on . The build is a rather simple resin / moebius conversion. Or what I call a joe Curtis special as he provided the sedan body and decals . The paint is Tamyia bright red . I did steal the wheelie bars from the AMT Awb falcon , and the front straight axle is from the little Red Wagon kit . Until next time thanks for looking Mike

Great looking build I fully agree these Awb mopar kits pretty much just fall right together and with all the decals available there are many possibilities. Then there’s early and late versions . These kits are even more addictive than the revell 64 thunderbolts. They were along time in the making but so worth the wait
