  1. Well, Artemis, it looks like you did all the research for me, now just need to pick out the one I like. Thank you!
  2. Thanks for all the suggestions! Looks like I may be on the right track. I've seen Charles' fire/brush version with the open cab, very inspiring but way beyond my abilities and aspirations. Gotta do some research before starting, got the kit on order...and I must try to finish up a couple projects for the upcoming show season (a double-decker sightseeing bus for one)
  3. Anyone ever notice the similarity between the Revell '41 Chevy pickup cab and these WW2 military truck cabs? Appears that G506 was the two axle and CCKW was the three axle variant. I'm thinking of using the pickup cab on the Opel Blitz chassis with a scratchbuilt nose with simple fenders. It even looks like the full-size hood was somewhat cobbled together itself! Front axle would have to be live too, hmmm...
  4. Well over half of the vendor tables have been sold, so things are shaping up well. Hope to see all you car modelers come out for the day!
  5. Dan, it's not a show, just a sale, with maybe about forty vendors, though usually very well attended. It's a nod to the slot car side of the hobby, but models of all kinds can be found there. Our model car show is in September. I was very pleased to see some new vendors at our last show, as some very different models came out of hiding, like the Winnebago (though slightly overscale), DG Productions Topkick and Ertl tractors. You never know when you'll find that special model you've been looking for!
  6. Wow, Peter, that was a quick response! Let's hope that the later date makes for better driving (and parking) weather. I remember hearing about a model show called the 'Hope It Don't Snow' Show, and that's how I feel about this one!
  7. Wow, so realistic! Lots of added parts and details and the careful weathering really bring it to life!

  10. Only a month away! Come by to shop, eat and see our dealership display!
  11. Tables are more than 50% sold out, so call or email to reserve yours now!
  12. I'd clean up the paint edges and cover the seam with 1/32" Line-o-tape pinstriping tape from the hobby store or their website. Looks good overall, I like the large exhaust
  13. Snow in the forecast again! Hope it melts before Sunday so lots of street parking is available. Note that Club members have been asked to park in the lot on the south side of Horner.
  14. There will not be a display or any awards, so leave your models at home, just bring cash
  15. There will not be a display or any awards, so leave your models at home, just bring cash!
  16. Cut the mindless chatter! For those stuck in the vendors' rooms, my pictures from today's show can be seen at http://public.fotki.com/Group25/2015-toronto-model-/
  17. Also, to alleviate any concerns about parking, they have arranged for more spaces across the street, on the south side of Horner Avenue.
  18. Hey, Carl, you can always bring one of your older creations, they're always fascinating to look at! Your scratchbuilding skills are great!
  19. Got the flyer?
