  1. I/m looking forward to this one, as I haven't seen a '65 wagon done yet. Nice details and plumbing on the engine, looks like a hybrid with the diode fuel filter, LOL (I zoomed in on the pic) - a clever idea. Obviously you know a few tricks for detailing. Big motor for a Biscayne, must have been a blast to drive at speed! Keep up the good work! Bob
  2. It's a very ambitious project, but you've suceeded in doing the hardest part very well! I expect you'll have a lot of fun adding all the little details, and it looks like you've got it all planned out already, so keep plugging away, you've done a great job so far! Bob
  3. Nice scratchbuilding! I'd try weathering it a bit and detailing the grille to add some visual interest to the kit parts. How in the world did you do that ellpitical tank?
  4. http://public.fotki....32-on-october-/ How about a 1955 Chevy Nova ???
  5. Hope everyone attending had a good time! My pictures from the show can be viewed at http://public.fotki.com/Group25/2012-toronto-model-/
  6. Thanks for the good wishes, Peter, and for your help last year (and every year prior, for that matter) The tables have sold out and 81 plaques have been done up. We looking forward to seeing some old and new faces this year. Bob
  7. Getting closer! I hope to see some board members at the show. I'm thinking of having a corner available where members can sign in and meet throughout the day. Anyone interested? Bob
  8. Neat! You did a great job on the scratchbuilding, paint, decals and overall details! I'd love to try one myself, as I already have a Econline gluebomb to start with, so thanks for the in-progress pics Bob
  9. Sorry you had trouble finding a parking spot. Apparently, there is a second parking lot at the site, but unfortunately, it was not well marked last year, so we will be improving the visibilty and access to it this year. Bob
  10. The details are also at http://www.group25.org
  11. Excellent work, Jim! The paint is very even and shiny, and the decals look great, a refreshing change from the kit ones. To me, the interior is way over the top, as you pretty much can't even see it once installed. But it is a very well done kit, every element of the original has been replicated. Maybe some economies could be found in future issues, by reducing the parts count and eliminating 'excess' detail items. I guess there's a 'Learning Curve' for model makers too. You did a great job with it, and made something really unique! Bob
  12. Check out http://www.jleslie48...rane/index.html for a cardboard model in 1/25th. I'm planning to do it in 0.040" styrene. Or http://www.jleslie48.com/nosport/index.html Bob
  13. Congratulations to Adam Grainger who took home an award or two! I hope to have the results posted on the club website, perhaps in a week or two. My pics from the show can be seen at: http://public.fotki.com/Group25/2011-toronto-model-/
  14. Good suggestion. Group 25 will be meeting tomorrow and I'll see what plans (if any) there are for photography. Look forward to seeing you at the show...and what genre do you build in?
  15. I checked, the 66 awards are in production at the trophy shop, so finish those projects and bring 'em on down to the Toronto show. There just might be one with your name on it, LOL!
  16. I'm plugging away at mine, making a few mistakes along the way and pulling off parts before they dry to flip them over and such, but seeing yours so nicely done is inspiration to keep on going. There are a lot of parts! When you consider what's in the box, the overall size, the number of chrome parts, the quality decals and the modern subject, this kit is really a bargain. I just hope I can do it justice
  17. Wish the picture was bigger, but anyways the red frame and fenders are really different and make your build very unique. Great job!
  18. Great job! One of my favourite kits, but it can be a challenge. So now you're going to dirty it up and fill it up with junk? Cool!
  19. I heard the Vendors Room is sold out, so I'm saving up my lunch money...and rent...and hydro money..and I never use the home phone anyway...
  20. Both International and Chevy/GMC have on-line BodyBuilder resources. They can be hard to navigate because of all the .pdf files, but you will eventually get to see and print out some pretty good diagrams of cabs and chassis that you can scale up to 1/25th scale. Here are some links that should get you to the body builder pages: https://evalue.internationaldelivers.com/service/bodybuilder/general/Saleinfo/CTDocMain.asp?doctype=ct471 https://evalue.internationaldelivers.com/service/bodybuilder/general/Default.aspx?pageid=2 or my original starting point for these pages if the don't load: http://www.internationaldelivers.com Be patient as the files can be hard to navigate but the pics/diagrams are great once you find them. I built a hood and a chassis using the diagrams printed out from these files. I printed them out at home, and then used to enlarge feature on the library photocopier to scale them up to the right size, e.g. a 96" wide cab should print out to 96mm (about 4", do the math) in scale, so I just kept enlarging the image until I got 96mm on the paper and there was my scale cab
  21. WOW, great pics! I especially like the original large size option, as you can really pick up the details of each model. It was really a feat to take so many pics of our favourite subject...thank you so much for doing that and posting it here Bob
  22. Looks like you do really nice work. Both the Macks and Internationals were used extensively for fire duty. Is the Cargostar cab available at all?
  23. Nice to see how you did the frame, that looks pretty strong! Thanks for posting all the in-progress pics, Bob
