    Thanks for the advice, got some Evergreen 0.125" styrene channel that the 0.040" thick door should fit in even after paint. I will shim and recess it a bit so it fits well or does stick out. Got some work done on the interior, which should just slide in before I build the back wall with its sliding door The console on the right is actually more of an engine cover, so once things are firmed up I will be cutting out the (unseen) cab wall to make room for the engine below.

    Some progress. Still need to figure out how to do the sliding back door, and I guess the interior (with its L-shaped dashboard) will have to go in first?

    Thanks for the source. I'm not too worried about the wheels, some pictures show 2-holes, some 5-holes, some both, some Euro-styled multiple holes, look like anything goes. Anyhow, I don't buy much aftermarket, due to $US, shipping, taxes, duty and I'm cheap to boot, I'd rather modify something than order it, and it's all part of the fun of building

    Comments and suggestions welcome. Don't know why, but cutting plastic really appeals to me, despite having many projects started and stalled, mainly waiting for paint. On a lark I built up a chassis from a European cabover kit that was missing the body and was looking for something to put on it... Where I'm headed Starting out Where I'm at now. To quote a modeling luminary, "It's starting to look like a truck". I will be cutting out a lot of the interior plastic to clear the engine, once it has some structural integrity.

    Looks great so far! I like the longer wheelbase of this issue. Neat little diorama starting to come together too, very well planned and constructed!

    Great pics, Howard! Very sharp and well lit. Noticed you got another JoHan Turbine car, is there something special about it? I have one in light blue. The museum was neat! Guess you decided to take the long way home - glad you did!

    What a clever idea for a build! Thanks for all the detailing tips, too, very appreciated, as I got one of these so cheap thru eBay from Asia and would like to detail it. There are some really unique two tone interior pics on the net I'd like to replicate. Bob

    Due to construction, the west building entrance is closed, so plan to enter the building from the east side. I'm told that this year more parking is available on the extended gravel lot and the field behind the community centre.

    It's a neat kit but lots of work to clean up mold lines and pin marks, and the opening doors aren't really worth all the effort, since the cab view is quite open with lots of windows and there's not much to see inside. I've been fitting the doors carefully and then gluing them shut. For something different you can also cut open the cab corner windows for the 'five window' look. Picture from http://www.hotrod.com

    We made more tables available this year and they're over 75% sold, so things are shaping up! Hope to see all our local builders there!
