The postman rang twice today! Slowly but steadily, the 1/20 scale collection is growing: Why do they have to do this? Teaser pics: I'm missing all except the bottom right Jeep and the Super Seven Help! Help! Heller 1/24 scale Voiture Pie. A oui, cherie! And a very restorable original 1959 rumbling chicken:

Call me an old geezer, but I find it MUCH more exciting that they re-release the Westfalia Joker: http://www.revell.de/de/produkte/modellbau/modellbau/produkte/?id=210&KGKANR=0&KGKOGP=10&KGSCHL=41&L=0&page=1&sort=0&nc=&searchactive=&q=&SWO=&ARMAS4=&PHPSESSID=6e010312d7f6a9b5fb70f82a722ccad1&KZSLPG=&offset=2&cmd=show&ARARTN=07344&sp=1

Diggin' Out from over 2ft here !!!

Just take it easy, Don. We need you alive and well for a long time to come. -
That's exactly why I asked. They forgot all the odd 'in-between' scales, like 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/9, 1/10, 1/14, 1/15, etc., despite I'm sure they would be appropriate and welcomed here. Hence my question, whether 1/20 would still be considered 'big scale', or 1/16 is the threshold. If yes, this would mean 1/18 is also considered 'main scale', which imho it definitely isn't.

Yes it will.

Where ya goin' Hot foot?
Junkman replied to RJWood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There must have been something seriously wrong with yours. 150 was not only easily achievable, but also comfortable enough to sustain over long stretches of road. The only annoying thing was the noise. The side windows started to lift at speeds over 120. -
User Questions About Krylon, Etc
Junkman replied to Bruce Poage's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wiser words were never written. I am a n00b for 35 years now and have yet to master painting with an airbrush. It's black magic, it seems. Anyway. If you use automotive paints from a rattle can, as I do, go to an arts supply shop and buy an assortment of nozzles like the graffiti artists use. They come in all kinds of spray patterns. Experiment until you found the one that suits your style. Also make sure you warm the cans before you use them. They should be under your hot water tap for several minutes. Then shake them well, at least a cigarette length (that's seven minutes for a non smoker). -
Gregg Went Off The Deep End

I wouldn't WANT to do 100+ in Gregg's new whip. If I flash by like a greased lightning, the hot chicks have no chance to SEE me in it. -

Most people used to drive four-wheelers find it hard to understand that 140 on two wheels is a completely stable driving condition. The faster the wheels turn, the more stable the bike becomes. -

I live on an island too and I can hit the century mark after roughly 20 seconds and 3/4 of a mile. Gregg's new motor can do better I bet. A lot better. Oh, btw., nice car, Gregg. -
Your Very First Real Car
Junkman replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My first car was a 1960 Buick Le Sabre convertible. It was laid up in a garage in Berlin for twelve odd years when I bought it. I'll never forget the 400 mile trip home to southern Bavaria in pouring rain all the way. This was 1983. I then restored the car together with a friend in his parents' driveway/garage. Apparently it is still alive and well, a friend of mine told me he saw it at a meeting last year. If I dig up a photo, I will post it. -

The freshness of new plastic.

Same here. In the olden days a friend and I would occasionally set off to Switzerland for plastic shopping. We usually ended up with a bootful of kits and a good few on the rear seat. We always pulled over at an arrestingly beautiful rest area in the mountains and inspected each and every kit on one of the wooden tables provided just for this occasion. The other people resting there must have thought we are a bunch of total lunatics and always took off pretty soon after we started our activity. -

Regularily and legally did 190 - 200 with my 1990 ZR-1 on German Autobahns. Fatest I ever did with any car is 287 - after 5.05 seconds. Fastest with a car on a closed course was 220 on the Hunaudieres and in Hockenheim. -
I got it! I just picked it up today!

Right. When are you guys doing a '61 Imperial then?

I say, I say. Yes, the potential of these kits, indeed. Espcially all these really rubbish Japanese kits I have what with shallow interior inserts to hide the electric motor and batteries and drastically oversized wheel wells to clear the poseable front wheels. So much potential, so little time... Did you notice, that the fragrance of a Japanese kit is distinctly different from the one of a US kit? -

this sounds all too familiar. Two is a remarkable figure. -
