Days of Thunder Sequel Maybe
webestang replied to Leo64's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hard pass. I'll just keep rewatching "The Last American Hero" with Jeff B. -
Back in the early 80's while driving my 71 Super Beetle on a date, the throttle linkage broke on the carb. I used a rubber band and a paper clip I had in the glove box to fix the linkage and finish my date.

That's good news. Gonna send some more prayers/thoughts for a speedy recovery. Stay strong.

Lost my little buddy this morning
webestang replied to Hard_2_Handle_454's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
This is one of about 5 kitty's that hang out behind my house and in the alley. Caught this one my garage roof letting me know it's time to clean the gutters....LOL. I have named them all and leave water and food for them under my back steps. Oh, this one is called Phoebe 2.0 (looks like a co-workers cat). -

RIP Dippy. So sorry for your loss. My current cat Shelby is 13 and seems to be in good health. I know I'll be devastated when he passes. -
That's my idea of money NOT spent well.

Model Car Display for Show NOT Diarama
webestang replied to Ralphie's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Don't have photo but I had an oval mirror underneath and the model was on scale jack stands with the hood propped open with a thin paper clip to replicate a hood prop. -
Nice one! I too like the windows like that. I have an 1/18scale Aston Martin DB5 that has that feature, cool stuff!

Any “diet” pop (soda) worth trying out there?
webestang replied to Monty's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Never could drink diet soda, hated the after taste. I did gave up regular soda many years ago when my triglycerides were through the roof. I drink Kool-Aid now and my triglycerides are back to normal levels. -
AMT Mustang II Hell Drivers Thrill show car
webestang replied to gasman's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Nice! My M-II was 78 hatch with a 302/auto, loaded with everything including factory sunroof. I bought it 92 for $850 and had her for 3 years. Lost storage and had to part her out, did make about $1200. The steering wheel I saved because I think it's cool and trying to figure out how to put in my 88 5.0....LOL -

Which would you Choose?
webestang replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For me the Lincoln could be a good daily but I would not daily drive the Nova unless I put many upgrades into her. But that Lincoln does have a lot of miles and 80's electronics (dealing with the ECU in my 88 5.0 right now) like mentioned earlier. Good luck on which ever you chose or hold out for something more "winter" friendly. -
Welcome. On your die-cast I have only seen a 71 vert in 1/64th scale.
