  1. A coat of white on each
  2. These Salvinos kits come without decals. There are several options for the front grill, three different wheel choices so you can let your imagination run wild. Jimmy Spencer was always my favourite NASCAR driver so his decals usually end up on my builds. The Winston car has MPR decals and the Camel car has 3 Amigos. Yes, I forgot the spoiler for the Camel car and I have temporarily misplaced it.
  3. Love the 58 Edsel. Way underrated styling. Nice choice of red and white. Awesome looking build.
  4. Real cool!
  5. Even has the fuzzy dice, nice touch. Great build all around!
  6. I thought I was looking at the real thing with that first picture. Models like this amaze me at the skill involved. I salute you
  7. Excellent!
  8. Beautiful build.
  9. A while back I was totally into gassers. I couldn’t find front suspension aftermarket pieces so I purchased two Spirit of ‘57 kits to use as donors. One was a Christine which is complete and posted in the drag racing section, the other an Edsel which has not been completed. I had two leftover 57 Chevs so I grafted on the other kits front suspension and added my newly discovered aftermarket decals and wheels and tires to create these two contraptions. The Three Stooges car was originally #73 but I switched it to #37.
  10. AMT 64 Marauder, the new re-issue. Comes with some nice decals. I thought about doing a Stroppe Mercury but I wasn’t feeling a three color paint scheme. I thought maybe a one color USAC stocker. I thought putting the number over the trim would give it a Saturday night racer look but I think it looks more like a lazy modeler LOL. Box stock except for the Plastic Performance wheels and tires. Kit comes with a roll cage but I thought it looked funny so I went with a single bar type. Not one of my favourite finished products.
  11. Outstanding! I’m envious of your talents!
  12. Sides and back of our motor home slide out to give you more interior space, slide them back in before you travel, that’s when the crushing happened.
  13. My wife and I were on a two year motor home trip and she suggested I get a hobby. I jokingly told her I used to build car models when I was a kid. She thought it was a good idea, I didn’t, paint, glue, smell, mess ect. She insisted it would be okay so I purchased a ‘68 Dart from the local Hobby Lobby along with some paint and glue. Everything was brush painted. Decals were a bit stressful and I had some fit issues, just like when I was a kid. Unfortunately, the car went through the crusher, also known as slide outs, along with a Christine I had just finished. I managed to save the wheels and tires which I later used on an Edsel. After returning home I discovered the world of aftermarket decals and websites like this one and have become totally hooked again. My eyes aren’t like they used to be and my fingers don’t always co-operate so I don’t do any fine detailing, but I’m sure having fun again.
  14. Always nice to see a first time winner, especially the biggest race. Bought these decals (MPR) hoping to use them on an older Mustang, they didn’t fit, so I purchased the Golly Green Gasser. Sanded the trim and opened the wheel wells to accommodate the larger tires and wheels (Plastic Performance). Rustoleum paint and bumper bars made from the parts tree. I few older contingency decals to give it a sixties vibe.
  15. Wow…I can’t believe the detail…fabulous, outstanding…what more can I say?
  16. new century hobbies.com
  17. Anyone know where I might get custom decals? Only need numbers in certain fonts, styles and colours for 1/24 and 1/25 NASCAR builds. I don’t have equipment to do it myself. Thanks
  18. Highly impressed by car and garage, and you know I don’t impress easy. (Sorry, stole that quote from Jesse Ventura)
  19. Had some fun with this one. AMT Christine kit. Sanded off all the trim and opened the wheel wells to accommodate the larger tires. I used Tamiya putty to cover the headlights and taillights. Built a roll cage from the parts tree. My first attempt at building front and rear bumper bars, I’m not happy with the result, that’s how you learn I guess. Rustoleum primer and paint, MPR decals and Plastic Performance wheels and tires.
  20. Fabulous! You are an artist for sure.
  21. Great work. I love this kit, I’ve built four, box stock, gasser, dirt track racer and a Richard Petty build. Watch out Moochie!!!
  22. Lots of cutting and sanding. Went with the flathead option. Left over #4’s are from a Petty build. Plastic Performance wheels and tires.
  23. Next two builds have been primed and a coat of metallic aluminum. Waiting for the decals to arrive. Will be part of a fantasy, what if.
  24. Used the front suspension out of the Spirit of 57 kit. Used the tires too. Metallic aluminum for the trim inlay and bare metal foil for the chrome.
  25. AMT 1960 Starliner kit. Plastic Performance wheels and tires. Three Amigos decals. These decals are from a gold car Jimmy Spencer ran at The Winston (maybe 1999). I like mixing eras.
