I’ve been reading that there is an issue with handling chrome paint (specifically Revell). Some parts like rims must be touched by hand to insert them into the tire, do gloves help? Any suggestions would be appreciated before I invest in a can.

Real sharp!? -
I had been waiting a long time for these decals, finally was able to purchase a set. Used a Revell Bill Elliot kit. The body had a warp in it, but nothing major. This paint scheme was only run once at the 1997 finale at Atlanta. I don’t know who manufactured the decals, I had some major issues. Where the red and white colours meet, there should be a silver pin stripe. The first one disintegrated. I applied microsol, but it didn’t help. Since there was no bleeding from the two paint colours, I decided to go ahead without the silver stripes. I applied microsol to the large Winston hood decal and all the silver ran, ruining it completely. The grouped contingency decals broke apart. Luckily I found another set on EBAY and was able to complete the kit.

Monogram ‘59 Impala…lots of chrome trim, maybe try Revell chrome spray instead of BMF. Can’t wait to get started!

What is silvering of decals? -
Thanks for the tips everyone, I ended up using 1200 grit paper and lightly sanded.

The window black came pre-done. Just had to glue it in. -
Sorry for the confusion. It’s the two black marks beneath the arrows.
