Tape Residue Frustration
Horrorshow replied to That Plasticated Guy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Old tapes will leave residue. Are they being stored near heat? picture below is the only tape I use now. Works great, no bleed though. -
Looks great! I admire your vinyl roof technique.

Looks like it drove right off the show room floor… great work!

Tobacco Road(Runner)
Horrorshow posted a topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Another tobacco themed 70’s era racer. This is the Salvinos 71 Roadrunner kit, picked it up from Mike’s as a donor kit (no decals). The numbers and contingency decals are Powerslides, the John Players are from Spot Model. I was hoping to add pin stripes like the F-1 car, never figured out a technique. Went with gold BMF, bumpers, rims and roll cage. -
I big Salute to Tyler from a fellow Canadian.

Just looked it up, was called Eating History, from 2020, 10 episodes.

There was a TV show where two guys would eat the vintage food. Only thing I can recall at the moment is a bag of Fritos from the seventies that they said were awful.

Donnie, Cale, 1979
Horrorshow replied to Horrorshow's topic in Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
A whole bunch of different decals from various sources. Numbers and contingencies were Powerslides, the Winston stuff was from a couple of Jimmy Spencer sheets and the Rothmans were from Spot Model and Indycal. Part of the fun for me is the planning and collecting. -
You have my respect, details like the spare tire sticker and rad hose labeling are top notch.

In the early 70’s, Junior Johnson was approached by RJ Reynolds tobacco, they wanted to sponsor as many as four cars. Somehow they ended up sponsoring the whole series and the Winston Cup was born. If Junior had accepted their offer I would think it would have opened the door for all kinds of tobacco sponsorship entering the sport. I have already posted a couple of 1970 era tobacco themed cars. I thought of honouring NASCAR’s most famous last lap by building these two together. Started with two Buddy Baker Salvinos kits (they were on sale). Lots of different decals were used. I was pulling for Donnie that day.

Real sharp! I really like the detail work on the interior, my old eyes and shaky hands wouldn’t even attempt something like this. Again, awesome work.

First saw one of these in Tombstone Arizona. I couldn’t stop laughing

Real sharp! Love the shade of red. -
I have had good luck with the microscale, but there is no way of knowing what would have happened if I didn’t use it. Also had some bad luck. This picture shows what it did to the silver on this decal.

Do you have a “parts box”? Is there a specific style of wheel you are looking for?
-
Excellent work…looks fabulous.

Real nice! Besides the decals, are there any other aftermarket parts on this?
