  3. Thanks man! Its a nice kit. And they are beutiful cars?
  4. 6 coats of MCW Light Turqoise Metallic. I think its turned out great so far but im thinking 2 more coats? For a nice deep look...
  5. This is very sharp! I have always admired builders who make opening doors its something i havent wanted to try but its a nice touch.
  6. I love these cars. Yours looks great! I built one years ago but my skills are better now i wanna pick this kit up again.
  7. Welcome Bill. I have 141 unbuilt models but it still isnt enough haha
  8. My favorite year of Road Runner. I need to get this kit into my stash. You did a great job! Excellent detailing
  9. Thank you everyone
  10. Thank you everyone! I liked the color combo when I seen it on a real one. And I definitely enjoy the fine detail work and taking the time to do it. My foiling skills have definitely come along way. It's funny I remember when I was 13 when I started building model cars regularly I just wanted to slap it together as soon as I could So i could buy another one now I enjoy detailing them.
  11. I just finished it yesterday. I scratchbuilt the arm rests on the front door panels for added realism. I did use a mirror from my junkyard because the kit does not offer a stock one. And used photoetched parts along with decals for the dash. And scratch built door sill plate moldings. I wired the engine and used photoetched hose clamps for the first time. Made front coil springs also for it. Scratch built valve stems for tires to and painted tire lettering plus detailed the hubcaps. 8 coats of Testors gloss cream and 4 of Testors gloss black. Airbrushed. I had alot of fun building it. It was a 2 month build. And only fit issue was hood. The trickiest parts to detail was painting the hood and trunk emblems red white and blue but it was well worth the effort. And of course i foiled up all the chrome trim. Otherwise it goes together great like most monogram kits. I came to learn my Grandpa had one of these back then to.
  12. Thanks!
  13. Thank you! No you are right on the tires.
  14. Thanks. I think it's turning out great to.
  15. I'm almost done with it. I'm considering putting it in a contest for replica stock. What do you think so far?
  16. Thanks. It was popular color combo in those. I think it will to once it's all foiled up.
  17. Testors gloss cream with testors gloss black. 8 coats of cream. 4 of gloss black. Just needs the trim work done. Airbrushed
  18. Beutiful Impala! I won my 1st model car contest with my 58 Impala factory stock build I won the replica stock class. Mine is the Revell Monogram 58 though.
  19. Yes it's 1/24 scale like old monogram kits. After building this I will be buying more of ICM's model t kits. It's nicely detailed and the fit was great. Only issue I had was the top was slightly warped but I used super glue to put it on and used 2 spray cans to hold it down. Thar fixed the warp. Although I'm not a big Ford gut I always have liked the Model T because it is so significant to the American automobile industry and it changed everything. It is a very important car.
  20. I started June 10th and just finished. I airbrushed Testors gloss dark blue and gloss black for the body paint. I built right out of the box but I did add ProTech braided line to replicate the spark plug wires because I felt it was a good resemblance. And I did scratch build the spark plug terminals for the trembler coil box under the hood. And I rubbed the white rubber tires in dirt to make them look used. It's the oldest car I have ever built a model of next oldest would be my amt 25 T roadster. It was my 1st ICM kit and I am impressed overall. Although brass plated parts would have been nice to have.
  21. All I have for Airbrush right now is a Badger 250 and I tried Alclad chrome while back with no luck so I didn't think Alclad brass would work either.
  22. I decided on Rust Oleum Metallic gold. It replicates brass well but isn't as metallic as Testors metallic gold. And Tamiya gold leaf I tried but it was I thought too dark. Thank you for the tips. I will post pictures when the Model T is done.
  23. Thank you for the tips! I will keep you all posted on what I use for the brass on the T.
  24. I have some Testors brass enamel paint but its too dark. Is there a better option to replicate brass trim on a early Model T? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
