  1. Hi guys, Cobra is very nearly done (just need to redo the bonnet) So I started another airfix car to practice a few more things on. This time building the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours Class winning TR4a. Kits airfix and will pretty much be out the box. Here is where I've got to after a couple days, again some learnings. Realising patience in waiting for paint to dry and trying to get too much glued at once. Did try to open up the front grill and will be converting it from LHD to rhd. Dash will be wooden like real car. Some of the interior is guessed as couldn't find reference photos. Tried white piping on the interior too
  2. What an absolute beauty!!! Loved all the extra details you built into this!
  3. Interior is beautiful, the dials and the spare wheel straps are very nice. I like the fact seats slightly different colour to
  4. Will settle down for another tutorial on how to do an awesome build
  5. Those arches and front wings look great!
  6. Like the others I see no bumps, it's looking great
  7. So the missing wheels, steering wheel and dashboard where solved using a junked diecast AC ace and wheels from an old best Ferrari that was in a bad way.
  8. That looks great! Tempted to add this to my stash
  9. Been having a play with couloirs and I've picked racing white from tamiya. I like that it's a creamy white. Got lucky with being able to use my future father in law's garage to try some more spraying. This will be being stripped though as it needs some more smoothing out plus I need to sort out that red hood!
  10. That's a beautiful looking engine. Packed with detail
  11. Very nice, a very important little car
  12. The exhaust on one side has been cut short which means the headers don't sit quite far enough forward hence it has a slightly squiffy look to the engine in the frame. I've decided to go for a clubman (cobra raced after its prime) style look. The rear of the body has been almost melted in places given a hand beaten panel look like a racer that's seen better days and I think I'm gonna keep it as part of the cars riches to rags racer look.
  13. Awesome car, I prefer this to the all silver saubers.
  14. High air box cars look great. Enjoy watching masters F1 whenever I can brands, donnington or silverstone
  15. That's a smart looking block
  16. Love the colour and the silver stripes.
  17. That's lovely. Really like the 904 great shape
  18. Your cobra looks ace too, think I'm gonna go for a club racer. Thinking about modifying the hood with a scoop
  19. Thanks so much that's a huge help!!!
  20. My kits missing instructions and I'm struggling where this fits?
  21. I've paused my Camaro for now as come up against a few issues with wheel arches. So while I figure that out I've pulled out a charity shop find. It's missing the photo etch parts and also a wheel. So I'll source some nice 1:43 wheels from elsewhere. The body is a bit battered so I'll practice some filling and reshaping on this. I'm going to make it a racer but not sure what car yet. What I am starting with
  22. I decided to add the ECD 400's white around the nose and also tried with my shakey hands to add the silver bonnet trim. Again I'm now thinking masking tape should have been used but this will now be a bench mark for my next build and learning more for the bigger projects I have in mind. I may order some decals and turn it into a sort of racer as I plan to just do racers.
  23. I'm still playing around with some airfix kits as scrap cars to work out a good brush painting technique. Although I nipped outside and spray painted 1 of them just so I could have at least 1 kit under my belt! I hope to get withing a quarter of Pierre's mastery of a brush.
