  1. Looking good so far. I've been wanting to make a sprinter van conversion but haven't been keen to chop up an expensive resin kit or do a full 3D print. This toy looks like a good place to start.
  2. I dug my R8 GT3 kit out of the stash to take a look. The tires fit snuggly around the wheels as they should, but the wheels are noticeably deeper (wider) than the tires. If the tire is pushed all the way down, the wheel rim will protrude past the tire "bead" creating a shadow that looks like a poor fit. Ideally the tire should be installed with the "bead" close to flush with the rim as pictured below and any excess wheel width trimmed off the back side.
  3. I like the color in your inspiration photo, looking forward to seeing it on the model. I painted this kit green as well when I built it. For the wheels, the factory Civic EK9 wheels look similar, but they are smaller. I believe the ZoomOn NSX-R detail kit has the correct wheels, you could ask if they would sell them separately. I also found a file on Cults3d if you have a way to 3D print them.
  4. I don't plan to start on this project this year, but I couldn't resist testing it out. This will be a Cosworth DFV powered Lotus Seven hot rod.
  5. Wow! The level of detail and quality of finish are top notch.
  6. Good work! I have this kit in a different livery and can confirm the molded detail is underwhelming and the suspension is fiddly. Your extra work really brings it to life.
  7. If you already use Scalefinishes you can email them the paint code to request colors that aren't on the site. They will send a PayPal invoice, so let them know if there are other colors you want in the same order. When I got a custom color it was no extra charge and shipped within a couple days of paying.
  8. I finally got my hands on my holy Grail kit, the Profil24 1956 Jaguar D-Type Le Mans winner. Looking at the parts I can tell quite a bit of work will be needed, especially to get the hood to line up with the body, but it has the basis for a beautiful model. Funny enough, I had mentioned this kit to someone last year and they said maybe it would show up on eBay. Sure enough, that's where I found it, and even managed to pay a bit less that it cost new. I also received a few 1/43 kits directly from BBR in Italy. The are impressively detailed and only cost $35 each after shipping.
  9. It looked great in the WIP and even better now that it's done. The shine on that paint is awesome.
  10. It's the first time I've seen this kit and you did a great job building it. For the flags you can check model ship or armor building forums, they have a few ways of doing it. One is to paint or decal it on to a piece of aluminum foil. Another is to print or paint on tissue/rice paper and use diluted PVA glue to shape it.
  11. It looks like ScaleMates has the instructions posted for this kit: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/aoshima-064351-82-delorean-dmc-12--1543041
  12. Wow! The trim level of your subject may be bare bones, but the level of detail you put in certainly isn't. So many little things that add to the realism of the model. You did a great job on the paint work too.
  13. This year I finished five cars and I'm pleased with how they turned out. I also added over 30 kits to the stash, so I'll have to try to finish even more in 2025. 😅 Toyota Celica 1600ST (1/24 Hasegawa) Lamborghini Miura P400 SV (1/24 Hasegawa) Scion FR-S/Toyota 86 Rocket Bunny (1/24 Aoshima) Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 (1/32 Aoshima) Mazda FD3S RX-7 Spirit R (1/24 Aoshima)
  14. Great work! I've seen a lot of the Z-tune kits painted in Midnight Purple, but I think this is my favorite.
  15. I'm interested in hearing about the updated part when you get it. I have one of these airbrushes and I noticed it sometimes feels like the air delivery is hesitating, I'm wondering if this part is the cause. Other than that issue it's a good brush. The materials and finish are as good or better than my GSI Creos brushes.
  16. Hello everyone! I've been reading the forum and liking posts for a while but haven't posted anything. I mostly build imports and exotics in 1/24-1/25 scale, but the cool builds I've seen here have expanded my interests. Below are a few models I've finished this year. If you were at the 2024 ACME show you may have seen them on display. I plan to post some full RFI threads in the future.
