  1. I can't find any dimensional data on the innerweb for the Century 7035 anyway,,just sales specs ,,,if I could get that I might give it a shot
  2. Started the KW's kit wrecker body,,I'm thinking leave it as is and just fab up an under reach axle lift and attach to the back,,not as part of the boom,,,to make it look exact I might as well build everything from scratch which is out of my ball park ,,left field to be exact,,,lol
  3. .............the Western Star would make a great wrecker.....jus' sayin' ,,,because ,,,,,,lol
  4. I think you should paint it God's color Alpine Green and put "RELIABILT" decals on it 😉
  5. The only other thing I need to get is the front bumper mounted winch,,,,,I could cobble something if I can't find one and I guess I'll use the PTO from the KW and adapt it to the Allison transmission
  6. Don't get in too deep Jeff ,, it's like quicksand!! 🙂
  7. I had that Alpha boat thats been sitting for year ,,,so I finished that up and it freed up some shelf space for something else! HA!
  8. I had ordered a Mack E Tech engine from Jamie but I opened the bag and he sent a Cat engine by mistake ,which I can use somewhere,,just for the heck of it I checked ST and he had an E8 Mack,,,must be new never saw it before,,,,so the front will be pretty close to the 1:1 ,,,the wrecker body and boom will be close enough!! lol
  9. I have a Mack MP-8 engine coming from ST Supply , so I think I'm going to use the KW frame and not the Mack,,along with the drive axles and air suspension .I'm going to build up the wrecker body 1st and fab up an axle lift of some sort ,not sure if I'm going to cut up the back of the wrecker body and attempt the angle back or leave as is and just add the axle lift to the back of the body instead of having it as part of the main boom
  10. .......here we go !!! lol not sure where but we're going!
  11. Just finished her up ,she's gonna be in a diorama I got planned. All the handrails/rungs/canvas supports I did in brass rod and scale chain, weapons are various 3D print items I sourced along with the crew.I used brass barrels on the Mk48 20mm turrets. I sprayed the boat with Tru-Color Marine Corps Green which was the color of most Riverine boats and weathered with Tamiya chalks and Vallejo washes. Now on to my Winter project, the FDNY Mack wrecker!
  12. That's gonna be sweet Gary!
  13. Brian,that came out great!!!!
  14. I've been fiddling with this over a year,,it's a Masterpiece Models ASPB ,,resin cast 1/35th scale. It's going to be in the diorama along with the guntruck along with a Tamiya PBR and some other pieces for the land based convoy .I made all the rails and and masts from K&S brass rod and Evergreen styrene rod I'm just about ready for primer and paint .The canvass is done with styrene and brass rod and the supports will go into predrilled holes.I replaced the barrels in the turrets with brass . My diorama will be based on the activity during Operation Coronado in the Mekong Delta /Vung Tau/Dong Tam areas .The ASPB's were built by Gunderson Brothers and had twin 12V-71 Detroits with props but in a "tunnel drive" design,,shallow draft .Steel and aluminum
  15. I got these coming for another project I've been tinkering with on and off for a year now,,,I'll post a pic of it later,,it doesn't have wheels! ,,,,,a pair of M134's ,Dragon Hobby ,,ebay ,2 different versions,, Dillon Aero M134D
  16. My beef with most of the 1/35th armor and other military stuff is,,,, no engine detailing ,,,,fantastic otherwise ,, My Tamiya PBR Mk2 river boat would have been fantastic with a pair of 6V-53 Detroits and Jacuzzi pump jets
  17. Just about done with this,an inbetweener while I still gather up stuff for the FDNY Wrecker,,, I'll use the guntruck in a diorama I have planned
  18. I got them from Terry at STS,,$30 ,,I sent him pictures of the actual car and tell him what model kit I'm using ,,takes 6-8 weeks when he's busy.He did the Reid Whisnant car too
  19. Terry ,I used white hat pins with the needle cut off ,I painted them to match the car
  20. Here's the actual car at Englishtown years ago with our own Walter Frey track announcer!
  21. Thanks Zip,,yeah fogging the paint was tricky,,,came out ok though,,,I'm going to build that new Moebius 65 Coronet AWB with a straight front axle too
  22. Thanks Mike,STS did the decals for me,they were a bit too big I had to cut and splice them ,but they came out decent
