  1. I was wondering when the driver would make an appearance! Awesome! I'm having a seatbelt installed on my computer chair...
  2. 2 very nice rebuilds! Nice work! I have done the odd brush paint body job, most recently a Beetle Convertible, I did with Tamiya Gloss Black. I used a bigger brush than you, though. Here are a couple of pictures. I hope it shows the result.
  3. I still bought the kit, because I do think it is cool, but I obviously have to rethink what I was going to do with it since the scale is not what I thought it was! George-glad to take one, buddy!
  4. I bought the kit today, and found out the scale on the box art was incorrect. The website has been corrected to indicate the correct 1/48 scale, not 1/25 scale that was on the website, and is on the box art on the kit I bought. I got an apologetic email from Lindberg's Ernie Petit, regarding the error in scale, after sending a scathing email. He also assured me the box art has been corrected, but obviously the incorrect box art was shipped out already. This is a reissue of the Hawk kit, by the way. Just thought I would share the error, and also that I did have a positive response from the company. They've done what they can to correct the problem, and apologized for the error. Good on them!
  5. Sounds like a great way to expand your skill, and challenge yourself. Lovely design! I love the Cybele, too!
  6. Awesome tutorial! Thanks for doing this!
  7. Very cool, though I was looking forward to the hearse! Cool turn around of events! A Chebbie box on a Merc? IGOR has a sense of humour!
  8. Now it's MR. SKWIRLY, is it? I remember back when we could just call him SKWIRLY...Good to see this build back in gear!! Keepin' my eyes open for more, CB!!
  9. Cool building! Love the Type 2 van, and Beetle in the parking lot. Rockin' DaveTown!
  10. Nice build. The Charger looks great in a two door. I think they should have stuck with the Intrepid name for the four door, and used Charger on a two door. I guess Challenger is the two door. Oh, and Jeff Dunham rocks!
  11. Pontiac GTO wagon...way cool! My buddy had two T-37s. I think they were a one year only car, either '71 or '72...I always forget which year they were, as it was many moons ago...
  12. Love what you are doing. I'm a VW fan myself. I've got a '70 Revell convertible on the workbench right now, and a few un-built VWs in the pile! Will keep an eye on your builds. Thanks for the tip about Hasegawa releasing a 1/24 Kubel. Will have to look for one for sure!
  13. You're just looking like you're having a whole ton of fun with this build...That is some way cool VW pick-em up...with a ton of attitude! Awesome scratchbuilding, just awesome!
  14. I just stumbled upon this thread...and proceeded to read every post, and take in every picture. I am speechless! Dave, you've done some awesome imagineering here! Wow! I can't wait to see the final reveal. Very cool, absolutely awesome build! I'm looking forward to retiring, in 20 years or so!!
  15. Been a while since I been called kid! Thanks, George...no stopping now!
  16. Very cool build!
  17. Thought I'd throw an update up. Probably have one more sand and primer coat before laying on the white. I decided to use the Concept Camaro brakes, wheels and tires. Just a coat of Tamiya Gunmetal on the wheels. I'm looking for some Pontiac logos for the centres.
  18. Take care, Scott. Heal quick!
  19. Just pick one picture? Hmmm...I'd have to say this is one...First time I took my dio outside to take pictures...I like how the '59 Impala, and the custom Beetle looked out front!
  20. Wow, cool diorama. Excellent job!
  21. What a neat idea! Very cool, and well done.
  22. That is a great piece of work, Jerry!
  23. Looks like a great start, so far, Scott! Inspiration strikes, and you gotta act!! I get that!!!
  24. Sometimes I throw the leftovers from a build into a ziplock bag, and throw into a parts box-1/8 scale Trans Am box, actually. Some organization, as a couple of model box bottoms are used for tires, wheels, and wheel backs. Box tops usually end up flatttened down and retained in a pile. Instructions go into either the ziplock bag with the spares, or into another model box. Same with any leftover decals. Occasionally, leftovers have been known to be cast directly into the bottom of the parts box. As for sprue, I made a two-tiered tire rack for my diorama, and have used it in place of styrene stock at times.
  25. Looks like a great start! Keep at it!
