  1. Yowzers! Guntheys comin along great! You gonna smooooth his face out some with more shreddered politicos?? He looking like an alien...I forget the name from an old show...green guy...anyways, I'll think of it...old age. Nice working there CB! Skwerls & Gunthey going to be dynomite!
  2. Your research paid off! Nicely done, you must be pleased! Can't wait to see more!
  3. Sees ya gotcher rose coloured glasses on there CB! This driver got a baked brain now, what with bein in the heaty booth and all!
  4. Fan-freakin-tastic!
  5. Ed, I'll assume you are talking to me (unless you like Dave's work, too! )...thanks, and I haven't decided, but I may put a touch of rust on the heater boxes! I think they were rusty when new! George-I can remember that when my parents had a couple of Beetles back in the day. Dad went from a Beetle to a '67 Galaxie convertible! I've got a 1:1 '67 WIP in my garage.
  6. Cool! I did one in monochrome yellow, with a set of Fujimi wheels and brakes! Nice job!
  7. Nick - Thanks, and Greely is in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario (Canada's Capital). Dave - Thanks! It just didn't look right without them!
  8. A bit of progress - Motor in, wheels on, rear bumper, and bracket mounted 1970 only 'reflectors' on, front fogs mounted to the bumper.
  9. Looks great! I'd be interested in building 1 or 2.
  10. Great start!
  11. The body looks fantastic!! You have taken your building to another level for sure. I'll be looking forward to seeing a successful completion, as I love your conceptualization, and think it is very cool!
  12. Fantastic craftsmanship! The boat looks great, and the woodie wagon, too. I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished models. Well done!
  13. Thanks! I really like the triple black! That is not the whole engine, but the long-block, so no exhaust or intake yet.
  14. The black trim on this model was done with a paint brush (Testor's), and flat black Testor's paint. That's all I used back then! I really took my time, and did it before assembly, so before interior and bumpers. No problems, I'm glad to help when I can! Good luck, will be watching your progress!!
  15. Here are some pictures of mine. One thing to note is the wheels wobble a bit, so either you'll have to glue them so they don't roll, or find a way to have them fit tighter to still roll, and be square to the ground. Oh, and mine doesn't have any rear view mirrors, and I see on the box that none are pictured. I don't remember why I painted the headlight lenses silver... A few more pics in the album here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v383/lun...20Carrera%20RS/ It is still one of my favourite models!
  16. Thanks, Jim! Get that drag bug back on the bench! Here are a couple of update pictures. Here are the rear side "reflectors" I made:
  17. Very clean build, I love it! Very cool that you also made it a slot car, AND kept it FWD! Fantastic!!! Must be a blast on the track!
  18. Very nice! Love the builds on the website, 1:1 too! Awesome!
  19. Nice build! The vinyl top looks great! Are you remembering to add for the thickness of the primer and paint when dry fitting? Been there, and done that. Nice fit before paint, won't go together after.
  20. I honestly don't remember any specifically. The rear decklid doesn't stay in place well, so could use a more positive hinge, or I broke the end pins that did hold it. I don't recall, actually! I did mine in red Testor's bottle paint with a Testor's brush back then! I'll see if I can't dust it off for a picture or two for you, if you are interested.
  21. What a beautiful paint job! Very nicely done! Wow!
  22. This one is well underway, but not quite done. Built from the Revell Convertible kit. Body bits out of the box Tamiya brush paints used. Gloss black with a wide soft horse hair brush. Interior Dash, interior panels, wheels same, and one of the bumpers I haven't taken any more pictures, but have started on the motor, and made a set of taillight side reflectors that weren't in the kit, like on this car. I still have to scratch a pair of 1970 only rear bumper bracket mounted reflectors like these: Enjoy! I'll post updates when I can!
  23. Wow, I built one of those when it was new! Still have it on the shelf. I love the body style. I'm not really sure about what you meant about the tires. Do you mean as in the tires left in an old kit? I would think that they would leave an 'indentation' in the plastic if a tire was against the plastic. The tires would be a bit tacky or sticky, I think, too. It would be pretty obvious, I would guess.
  24. Full function 1/4 scale...the Conley V8 is a 1/4 scale fully operational V8! I've got to go back to part 1, too!!
  25. Good point. Maybe a rollcage for the computer desk is in order.
