  1. Yeah I was really happy with it. I was using rustoleum enamel clear which I've had really good luck with over their other paints. I thought sence it's a enamel it would work... and it did on my test spoon. I think I just got impatient and sprayed it on to thick. I will probably decant and try again. No it was actually a enamel paint over enamel. Just a little too heavy and hot for the testors.
  2. Went to put some clear on my model painted with testors enamel metallic red and almost emedietly lifted . Now I have to go back to the hobby shop for the 3rd time after 2 painting misshaps. Hopefully 3rd times the charm though.
  3. My first time airbrushing a model, used testors metallic red 50/50 lacquer thinner. I am amazed at the result and don't think I will ever use hardware store paint on a body AGAIN! Pretty satisfied with the result especially for the price. Thanks for looking! Elliot.
  4. I absolutely love these cars, especially the 67-68 coupes. The Trans-Am series cars always have a place in my heart.
  5. Dude, what is it with tweeser and small parts shooting into oblivion. It's even worse for me sence the room where I work on my stuff is carpet. I think the small ones from the impala look good. Just my two cents.
  6. I've been working on this one in the background, it's a MPC 1967 corvette. It's a pretty simple build some modifications includ 6 taillights and the belts, other than that, box stock. I think that it's turning out pretty well. I'm just waiting on lacquer thinner to thin the testors metallic red that's going to go on the car. Thanks for looking! Elliot.
  7. Looks amazing, took a little brake from the hobby for almost a year (model railroad bug bit me in the butt) and missed out on some. This one looks amazing and glad I cought up on it. Keep up the good work!
  8. An absolutely beautiful dog. I love Springers and have had 3, such smart and caring dogs.
  9. I have done that exact thing! I didn't want to spend a lot of money and frankly I was board. So I sat down and an hour latter and some black construction paper plus some snipping got me this. I think for the time it came out pretty well. Elliot.
  10. WOW! This is amazing, a blown 427 in a gasser falcon is so cool. I'll have to use your technique for the 69 falcon stock car, because when amt butchered the promo mold to make it they removed the post. All 66-70 falcons were post cars.
  11. That's an amazing falcon! Few questions, where did you get the body, Is it an AMT body, and what frame did you use?
  12. Thank you! I used an old can of sherwin williams red spray paint, matched the actual red pretty well i think.
  13. Got this one a couple weeks back (haven't been on the forum for a while). It's a 1961 run of a PFM brass southern ps4 pasific. I've been looking for one of these at a good price for a while. And it came with a beautiful custom crescent limited paint job! The only problem is it's got a gallop, but for $270, it's a DEAL! Thanks brasstrains.com It with my ihc crescent limited cars.
  14. Looks good, just so you know VHT caliper paint only fully cures when it gets hot. "Curing: VHT Brake Drum, Caliper and Rotor Paint will dry to the touch in 15 to 30 minutes depending on humidity. It will air dry overnight. The paint must then be cured. After the paint is dry to the touch, bake at 93°C for 20 minutes" (www.svt.performance.com).
  15. Great job, you did really good, everything about it is perfect!
  16. I followed your WIP, this thing turned out sweet!
  17. Got 8 of these, so I could convert my ahm/ihc/rivarossi heavyweight cars. Once you do one car you kind of get in a rithm and just get faster and faster. This is how they look. I also had to do some modifications to the rpo and baggage car since their shorter than the rest.
  18. Now that's funny man, it's the perfect size to! ???
  19. Great work on this so far. ?
  20. That's looking really good, those doors seem to fit pretty well. I saw your video today, I really think you should look into making your own headers. From what I've seen, it gives great results and a car like this absolutely NEEDS fenderwell headers (IMHO). If you don't, it's your build. Anyway great job on this on Bob!
  21. I thought about that and I don't know. This video recommends that you heat it up, maybe that will make it stay. It would also be very easy to design a stamp like this and get it printed on shapways, or print it yourself. But you could also do it like this.
  22. This is a great tutorial on an easy way to make tuck n' roll with foam.
