What non-auto model did you get today?
FoMoCo66 replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I don't like it. 😐 -
Mmm... never mind, I'm keeping it. Not worth the work, probably do clear some time today.
-
I was just thinking about it and think that it's will just put a darker shade of red on top of it. It's not worth striping.
-
I guess your right, no use going through the trouble. I just wasn't expecting this color. Thank you.

Well I got my 67 corvette repainted and picked up some more testors metallic red, or at least I thought i did. I ended up buying metallic red/rouge and with the tinny faunt on the bottles I didn't see the rouge. My corvette is pink!! I wanted red! I might Layer some actuall metallic flake red on top to make it look better. Elliot.

I love watching Barbartos Rex, I had no idea there were so many different model paints! How do you like his paint? The color is beautiful!

Thank you very much. I ran out of dcc decoders so I still need to put one of those in. Sadly I will probably have to remove the athearn "Super Power" weight sence it takes up too much real-estate. -

Nice score, these from what I have heard are some of the best proportioned bare bones f units. They are definitely a good starting point for super detailing. I made an attempt to update the aperence of a athearn blue box f7 by filling in the windows. These blue boxes will never be as demesionaly accurate as the stewart/ kato f's but it's good enough. (I model 70s BN hence the paint scheme) Elliot -
This is a really cool car, I kinda like this look better than the stock formation. The open mouth type grill looks silly to me and I like the Chevy hood graft a LOT.

I've had luck with wd40 on plastic containers. I think it might work with this. Wd40 will get that sticky residue off to.

I've had that with my Springers, they seam to rub off on each other. My Mom's first dog was a Cocker Spanial and she says that that dog and her our family's first dog had the same bark, they both even sang the same jingle in their bark when they wanted attention.

Yeah I was really happy with it. I was using rustoleum enamel clear which I've had really good luck with over their other paints. I thought sence it's a enamel it would work... and it did on my test spoon. I think I just got impatient and sprayed it on to thick. I will probably decant and try again. No it was actually a enamel paint over enamel. Just a little too heavy and hot for the testors.

Went to put some clear on my model painted with testors enamel metallic red and almost emedietly lifted . Now I have to go back to the hobby shop for the 3rd time after 2 painting misshaps. Hopefully 3rd times the charm though.

Dude, what is it with tweeser and small parts shooting into oblivion. It's even worse for me sence the room where I work on my stuff is carpet. I think the small ones from the impala look good. Just my two cents.

Holy Cow! That's amazing!

I've been working on this one in the background, it's a MPC 1967 corvette. It's a pretty simple build some modifications includ 6 taillights and the belts, other than that, box stock. I think that it's turning out pretty well. I'm just waiting on lacquer thinner to thin the testors metallic red that's going to go on the car. Thanks for looking! Elliot. -
Looks amazing, took a little brake from the hobby for almost a year (model railroad bug bit me in the butt) and missed out on some. This one looks amazing and glad I cought up on it. Keep up the good work!

An absolutely beautiful dog. I love Springers and have had 3, such smart and caring dogs.

I have done that exact thing! I didn't want to spend a lot of money and frankly I was board. So I sat down and an hour latter and some black construction paper plus some snipping got me this. I think for the time it came out pretty well. Elliot. -
WOW! This is amazing, a blown 427 in a gasser falcon is so cool. I'll have to use your technique for the 69 falcon stock car, because when amt butchered the promo mold to make it they removed the post. All 66-70 falcons were post cars.

That's an amazing falcon! Few questions, where did you get the body, Is it an AMT body, and what frame did you use? -
Thank you! I used an old can of sherwin williams red spray paint, matched the actual red pretty well i think.
