  1. Thanks everyone for your input. I just ordered some Tamiya as I don’t have anywhere local I can buy it. Bill, I didn’t think of SEM, I’ve used a number of there products and I can get that across town, I’ll pick some up next time I’m out that way. Thanks all.

  3. In the past I’ve always used a Krylon or Rustoleum paint where I needed a flat or satin black. Lately these paints have been letting me down with their inconsistency. I’ll paint one day and it comes out fine, next time I use it it comes out with a different sheen and sometimes tacky and doesn’t dry. I shake the cans well and even warm in some water before spraying but the results vary from the same can so that I can’t depend on them anymore. Thought of switching to Tamiya, wondering what other people use.

  6. I did that once in grammar school. Made a diorama with a Ford Model T kit in it coming off the assembly line. I would say a lot of my inspiration comes from things I see or have been exposed to in some way. Saw the cover of a recent Collectible Automobile and was inspired As I’m currently building the ‘57 Del Rio wagon and Customline recently built the AMT Edsel my brain immediately put the two kits together and thought I could build this. But something whispered in the back of my head to look deeper and I discovered that Jimmy Flintstone did this in resin. So do I go resin, or do I build it myself? Decisions, decisions, but I have too many other projects right now so maybe I should just look away?
