  1. The site has been very slow to load this morning (Sunday 09 Mar), especially when moving between forums. I had a few hangs that have lasted longer than 30 seconds. Did all the usual stuff, but the rest of the internet is loading just fine.
  2. Looking really sharp! I don't know how you manage to get the wiring and bulbs in place during assembly. I can barely get a stock kit together without breaking something.
  3. I don't know how anyone can resist an S-13, this one is a beauty! That color is stunning. And I'm normally not a fan of neon, but the pink looks good.
  4. This is correct. Only the stepsides have these parts, the Cameo is a stock affair. Apologies for not clarifying. Glad to help. I remember making RTV silicone molds for these covers back in the early 90's, so I could cast the tops in sprue goo or 5 minute epoxy and use them on various projects.
  5. I knew that policecarmodels site redirected users to blackdogdiecast.com for a while, and seemed to be selling some stuff. It looks like BlackDog's eBay store is still around but they have next to nothing.
  6. As some who drove (piloted?) a '71 Fury III during my first two years in college, this is disappointing. I would like to disagree, but...I can't.
  7. IIRC, the initial issue of the AMT '55 Chevy pickup had these valve covers for the kit's small block. I don't know if anyone makes this style - very poplar in the late 80's - for a big block Chevy, though. Edit: since the actual valve covers have a separate plate bolted to the top, any chance you can use the small block valve covers to fab yourself a pair?
  8. I really, really dig that color! Nice work.
  9. I had the same thought. This is a really cool custom, and I love the wheel/tire combo. I'm wondering about what is under the hood.
  10. Nah, he's just getting ready for the hack shuffle. IYKYK.
  11. I'm pretty sure Spotlight Hobbies is the place. https://www.spotlighthobbies.com/chrome-plating-service/
  12. This is pretty cool. MASK was not in my timeline (I was in college in '85) but I have two much younger siblings who watched it. I remember they had a bunch of the toy vehicles, but especially Thunderhawk and Switchblade!
  13. Well, I'd say you nailed this one. Looks great, just like the real thing. If I can ask, where did you get the rear tow hitch?
  14. I'm always, always down for a Z car!

    Testors Che-Zoom

Wow, it's been a long while since I've seen one of those built up. The 90s were wild. I think I still have ½ can of Colors By Boyd Chezoom Teal somewhere in my paint museum.
  16. There's a lot of amazing history right there, but I'm really digging the 904 and 959.
  17. She's a beauty. The color combination is right on!
  18. I was looking at this kit in my stash, which is a Lindberg release from the early '90s. You are correct, the detail is pretty faint. I bet you could sand it off, line up the bed as you wanted, and most people wouldn't notice. Or you could just replicate the outer bead roll without worrying about the fender reveal, which is mostly hidden on a full fendered truck anyway. A good number of '32 truck owners go with custom or modified beds. It's pretty standard to cut down a '34 bed that will be used on a '32 frame, or to have custom bed sides made, some of which have no stamping detail. Take this all with a few grains of salt (and maybe a lime and a shot) because my '32 truck project never saw the light of day. You're further along than I ever got!
  19. I've been hoping for a new kit of any 1961 Buick (Special, LeSabre, Invicta or Electra) for decades now. But I'd be thrilled with repops of the ones listed in that flyer - wagon, hardtop or convertible. Or all three.
  20. Out of the entire High Roller series, the Luv was my least favorite, but...ok, fine I'll build it again! Also, I will snag the S-10 if it is indeed the lowrider kit, as I missed it last time around.
  21. Very sad and very true. RIP Gene, a true genius. Thank you for all the inspiration over the last 70+ years. https://www.autoweek.com/news/a64040173/gene-winfield-custom-car-icon-obituary/
  22. Cool. I'm curious how you plan to handle the bed swap, given that you want to use a stock length bed. I tried this conversion once, right when Revell released the '32 3 window, so back in early 1997 or so. I could never figure out how to get the bed details to look right. The 1932 Fords (passenger & commercial) had a 106" wheelbase, but the 1933-34 Fords had a 112" wheel base. The problem with using the '34 bed in this instance is that - even though the '32 & '34 beds are the same overall length - the bed side stampings from the '34 don't line up with the wheelbase of the '32. It's a small detail but it becomes obvious once you get the bed in the fenders/on the frame. The '32 cab also sits on the frame a wee bit further back than the '34, but that's small potatoes considering the larger issue. I suppose if one wanted to go the custom route, you could just sand off the offending details and go from there. At the time, I also thought about sanding off the details and reconstructing them with half round rod and putty, but that seemed like so much work to do 4 times over (considering the inside and outside of each bed side). Here's a a stock '32 pickup. Check out how long the bed overhang is at the rear!
  23. I'm digging this! I think the paint turned out great, that yellow looks fantastic. Nice and smooth, and the quarter panel decal makes it pop. Honestly, this makes me want to dig this gem out of the stash. I think I've got the Dirty Donny version in there somewhere...
